Your crazy not to option it. It really enhances the look of the dash. Without it, the dash looks barren and similar to a bus dash.

The clock's reflection in the dash day and night is annoying. I'd pay to remove it if it came standard.

I wouldn't order this on a GT3, because I don't like the look of an analog clock in a modern car, and as ExMB notes it's in the shape of a wart.
The now standard PTPA is no longer crap, even orthojoe has had good things to say about it.
I installed it in my GT4 this past weekend, it can easily export video with data overlay now.
