Yeah, i used one and estimated i am down around 100 HP. Not insignificant!

No kidding. How incredibly ironic.

That's ironic.

I thought it was funny mine went off while you were there for the meeting. At least that was how I was trying to make myself feel better about it.

Rob,
Your analysis of GT3 versus Turbo was similar to my feelings of them side by side. Glad you got to feel the car at sea level. You looked good out there!

I prefer driving the 991 GT3 vs the 991 Turbo S at the track but I also prefer the GT3 on the street for short periods. With a couple mods tho the Turbo S has nearly twice the power of a GT3 and can get it down to the ground. So it's fun in a different way. Both absolutely amazing machines from Porsche. Lucky to have both.

While at that venue a couple years ago, I was biased in favor of the GT3 but was most impressed by the Turbo's performance.

Great story Rob. I'm sure word got back to them even if you took the high ground by saying nothing.

Rob, I had the pleasure of meeting you at the PECATL last week with Carmen. What an awesome opportunity you had to meet with the powers that be in the Porsche organization. I hope the outcome meets your expectations. Regardless of the outcome you did the GT3.1 community a huge favor by raising the issue to the right people, and it is a positive reflection on Porsche that they would take the time to meet and address your concerns. I wonder if I am going to regret trading in my GT3!
Best regards,
Ken

Hey Ken! It was really nice meeting you, too. Good luck with your new Turbo. Truly a beast!

Thanks for the kind words. Team effort! It was a great experience. Porsche really impressed me.

Probably. But bringing it up would have been a jerk move imo, especially considering how great everyone was to us. And again, no idea what caused the CEL. It was probably something unrelated, but the odds of that happening have to be off the charts.

I think yours is the first 'free' driving experience I have read about. That is a $950 comp at least in LA! I did this experience and enjoyed it, but that is a lot of coin for 90 minutes of driving.

It's well worth it if helps you avoid buying the wrong car (difficult to get pre-purchase track time or even a street test drive on a GT car). And I imagine that one could get some tire/brake value in 90 minutes of track time too.

BTW, you also get a 90 minute session for free when you get Euro Delivery in Leipzig (but too late to avoid buying the wrong car by then )
