One option that is realistic is updating the 918 with lighter, more powerful batteries. The advancements in energy density and power density since the 918 began production in 2013 has been "yuuuge."

Roland Kussmaul's book details how after he left Porsche, several clients contacted him directly to take their 918s and "de-electrify" them. He turned them down for fear of facing the wrath of his former employer.

in 25 yrs the current " state of the art " hybrid drivetrain tech of P1/LaFerrari/918 and their first gen
software control/ potential scarcity of avail circuitry parts/ knowledgable repairabilty vs purer " analog " supercars from the early 1960s thru mid 2000s will seem like 8 track tape vs streaming online music and will see the desire/ values of examples such as Enzo >> LaFerrari ; CGT ( esp w its widow-maker reputation -no option of stabilty control - and old-school manual transmission ONLY ) >> 918
we all know that different people buy certain vintage cars to step into a time travel " experience " they were too busy , poor or young to experience 25+ yrs prior ..has always been that way !

The limited edition halo car market comes around once a decade or so:
959, F40
F1, F50, XJ220
CGT, Enzo, SLR
918, LaF, P1
Partly driven by economic cycles, partly driven by technology cycles
