i MTB a lot 25 years ago when i was immortal.
then i found out my collar bones, wrists and elbow seems to break when hitting rocks. and my helmet cracked when it met a tree as i roll off a slope....
now way too old for that.
i did moah on HT back then. looking back, hell, i can't drop in 2' even with 8" bikes.
getting old sucks

My problem is, without the excitement of the trail or like skiing/boarding I just cannot get myself to get a hard workout. I guess I’m just lazy but if I bike on road I just like plod along.

Coaches said I was a bag of potatoes hanging on to a bike.
loved MTB for a while but the bleeding All over The workout machines prevented me from my normal workout routine. And my ******* didnt like the big weight / little Seattle combo..
I may try the road racing version of bicycling, my body wasnt meant to run, so swimming and biking are optional but its tricky with all the old and retarded on the Road in South Florida.

I'm sure mooty will post up soon but several of us were out depreciating our bikes today. Phase #1 of vacation nearly complete. Next phase: deprecating cars while eating enough food to kill normal men.

I’ve always had trouble with non-cushy gel seats but now I’m using a Bontrager Montrose Pro CF (wide) that has a nice channel in it for comfort. If I try to ride consecutive days my hipbones still hurt but other than that it’s pretty comfortable for a small and light seat.

Mooty how the hell do you get the mole to show itself so you can splatter it’s brains with a shovel? I have “mole repellant” sound devices that emit a screech that’s highly irritating to me but apparently don’t bother moles in the slightest.

ChrisF - Looks like a beautiful ride and that was a great pace for a century with climbing!
