991.2 GT3 Design Changes..... Too much?
So, as I keep playing with the car configurator for my GT3 build, I'm starting to notice that the front air screens (not sure of the technical name) on the front bumper are a bit distracting. They protrude out more than I like from the sides, almost like they were going to wrap around and someone said, "Stop! That's far enough!" Also, the front bumper seems reminiscent of the Cayman GT4 front bumper. Is Porsche becoming a bit lazy in regards to design elements? The Cayman GT4 infringes upon the GT3 design in a lot of ways.
How do you feel about the new GT3 front bumper? (Oh, and I won't discuss the matte black ram air intakes on the bootlid )

I like the front end of GT4 better that the .1 GT3. I think it looks more aggressive. But- love the **** of the 911.
So - I welcome to small changes but unless you look hard enough- not that "in your face" in my opinion.
But I also think that wrap around protrude in necessary to drive more air in to the vents.
You want to see annoying - look at the new front end of the Audi R8

You have allocation?
-Don't buy it. Leave it for someone who wants the .2

Both front ends, .1 and .2, look great IMO. I do wish Porsche would change up the wheels on the GT3, but I have no issue with the overall styling at all. I think they did a much better job tweaking the GT3 than they did with the standard .2 Carreras.

So, for what it's worth, yes, I have a future allocation which I hope slips to the 2019 model year.

I'll take the front end change with whatever impact it has on the 20% increase in downforce (with no increase in Cd). It grows on you. They didn't get that increase by raising wing, underbelly, rear diffuser alone. The leading edge plays a part of it as well.

Need to see one again. Saw the bumper on a Cup car and didn't like it at all. I'm sure it'll be fine on Rs.2!

I think the changes are minor enough not to be a huge issue for most. I do think the .1 is perfect, but the .2 looks great, too.

.1 gt3 is best looking gt3 imho. I like the .2 front end better(more aggressive) but rear looks like aftermarket. Even the 997.1 gt3 was better looking than 997.2 gt3(the wing on the .2 looked a bit weird).

I love both. First gen cars almost always have a more organic design. Second gen cars inevitably have an aspect of "add-on" or slight aftermarket effect. The manual gearbox looks much nicer

I wonder why Porsche could'nt leave the two rear deck air scoops similar to the .1? It ties in much better and more importantly, doesn't make them look like add ons.
