Destaccado, why don't you read [URL="https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r/957856-911r-driving-impressions.html"] to find out why owners love driving the R more than any other car. It might temper your apparent hatred of the R. Or is it a hatred of people who have the ability to buy one? Or a hatred of anyone who challenges your point of view?

Ok, now you can enjoy figuring out how to turn this around to apply it to me. Have fun.

Every time I see someone make a click-bait or trollish thread title, i smile and assume that after this many bad examples, we are smart enough to stay away. But then, like lemmings, we all dive right in hoping some of our friends behind the curtain are heading somewhere compelling and interesting... and that it must be worth investigating so... and there we all go.

Due to someone's less than savory or appropriate recent comments, I decided to retrain my lemming-self to start to only visit occasionally and to comment even less than that. It's like a detox, feels good, I highly suggest it, the health benefits from increased driving and less thumb-tapping are appreciable.

I've considered using the newfound free time to go troll the 356 forum with "how much is my replica 356 speedster worth" but... why start a stampede elsewhere?

Peace.

6800 km, much less than 6800 miles

This one was nicely used
and I hope that the new owner with enjoy it the same way.

Basically. Anyone who pays more is an idiot. They should be selling for around $175,000 at this point.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree but do you think the 997 4.0 and 2rs should also be selling for around similar or lower levels? Just curious if you think no Ltd pcars should trade at premiums or just the R?

I don't own an R FYI.

If you notice, ~50K of the German car's 298K tag is VAT, so already a Euro 250 price point... You called it

I think that the 911 GT3 RS 4.0's are priced correctly. I believe that the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 should sell for what it does for one simple reason... There's no other car that can compare for it's generation. The 997 GT3 RS 4.0 was at the top of the pecking order for the 997 generation for naturally aspirated cars. There was nothing made that could compare to it. The 991 911 R is different because it's no longer special. People considered it special for one reason... it was the manual that Porsche refused to make matted to the 911 GT3 RS's engine. That made it a unicorn. All that changed when the 991.2 GT3 was released. And now that we also have a touring version of the 991.2 GT3 it further destroys the possibility of the 911 R being a special vehicle. The more 991.2 GT3 manuals that hit the used market the more the 911 R's are going to take a hit. Especially since the 991.2 GT3's are an improvement over the 991.1 GT3 RS's engine with higher revs and improved throttle response.

I still believe the R is a special car, most are specced really well and the car still is a looker with the .1 air vents and such. As a .1 generation car I think it will still be a collectable it's not the last manual but still a great car with major differences to the Touring that differentiates it enough to still be very exciting and cool. Just not 300K cool. I think a lot of the proponents of the R won't like the feel of the Touring too hard for the road and the lightweight single mass flywheel will always be a draw, why? I'm not to sure but somehow it will be. The RS engine is great but the lower rev limit took away a little bit. The new engine should be perfect for psychopaths like myself. Just enough street cred with all the raw elements and none of the gauche aero. slower? I'm sure but still fun in a more retro way. Who knows I may be back on here in 3 months time whining about how much better my RS is
