Having just driven it from Sweden to south east Europe on Cups (1800km) I got a bit of a sense of what it is about as a car.
It is very special, and to those who drive them, I would expect to be worth every penny. And even those who, like me, had to buy them on the secondary market.
It is as exciting as the RS4.0, but very different. RS4.0 is the track car, 911R is the road car (not a GT, mind), both delivering feedback and involvement to the max, while potentially compromising the ultimate speed. That, to me, is perfect. And worth the outlay.

Congratulations! What a combination! Maybe we could meet in the Alps sometime.

Without a doubt my 911R is special to "Me." It is the "Totality" of the whole car that makes this car special to "Me." Special Parts Bin in car lingo, if we are to compare to meat, I 'd say these are composed of "Prime Choice Cuts" meat.

Happy new year!!
Happy New Year to You and All PORSCHE Fans! Yes while I don't own a touring and just acquired the 991.2 GT3, I have to commend PORSCHE for consistently improving our PORSCHE GT cars. However, the "Parts Bin" concoction by PORSCHE on this 2016 911R is truly special to "Me," single mass light flywheel (unique clutch clatter), carbon fiber frunk, magnesium roof, unique RWS configuration, magnificent clutch to gear shift transition like a rifle bolt, etc., is what makes this car "My" favorite.

I agree and to each his own. I just accepted delivery of my PDK 991.2 GT3 but winter is here and given the proper time, I want to experience how good or better this engine is from the previous generation.

Just in time for hibernation for this 991.2 GT3 :-(

Drive safe,

That would be great. I have long been looking for a group of similarly minded European owners.
Let us try and make something happen this summer!

Many thanks for the kind words!
Indeed, this was the Malmö car, delivered at the factory in Leipzig.

The R is beautiful and special, I hope those who own it got it for a good price and enjoy not as an investment but as a loved family member
