My wife and I had an absolute blast at this event. Great people...great drives... great cause. Can't wait for next time. It was nice to pile on some miles on the new RS, added about 2000 miles this weekend alone. My god what a car. Thanks again to everyone.

Man that was an amazing few days! One of the coolest drives was the pre-dawn run to the tail of the dragon. It was still dark when we left the hotel, there was a sliver of moon but with the mist and fog all you could really see was tail lights snaking through the dark... but the sound! 8 GT cars and a 918 screaming in the night unleashed on empty country roads was totally unreal.

Arriving at the tail just as dawn started to break was not half bad either....

It was great meeting everyone, the whole group was super cool, the driving was amazing, the amount raised for cystic fibrosis was considerable, and all the planning and organization in getting so many people together was really impressive. I can't wait to do it again next year, maybe with less barf stops on the dragon next time around

Nate, really great photos! Thanks for sharing. It's great to remember the last few says through these photos. I didn't get to take too many. Way to busy enjoying the time there. My good camera stayed in the frunk...

Here is a quick re-cap of our trip.

We left Minneapolis last Tuesday with 3 GT3's in tow.

We stopped at my parents place in Chicago to pick up my old man and his GT3 as well.

On Thursday, we drove down to Atlanta to check out the Porsche Experience Center.

We then headed out to get the best BBQ in the south (GC BBQ)

On Friday, we headed out to Atlanta Motorsports Park for a great track day.

Peter Lapinski came down with us from MN to photograph the event.

On Saturday, we drove up to Heavens Landing (1 mile private runway) and did ½ mile runs.

On Saturday night, we headed to our friends cabin.

Will definitely be back in 2018. Thanks to Sean and Mayur as well as all that made this event possible!
There were over 70 GT Porsches in attendance and a great group of people. Made some new friends and had a blast!
More importantly, over $100k was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by the Smokies GT group.

My old stomping grounds. We still have a place in Sand Bay.

From Egg Harbor, head north on Highway 42 (west side) to the top of the peninsula. That picture is the last couple miles of highway 42 at the northern tip of the Door County peninsula. Stop when you get to the water. Take highway 57 back (east side). Makes for a nice circle.

Would recommend doing it early as roads get crowded.

Thanks; wedding is the Friday of Le Mans weekend, with most of us hanging around to watch the full 24 on Sat and Sun.

Though I wasn't there personally this year, the HRE team that did go out to Smokies wanted to thank you for your hospitality and a fantastic time. Hopefully I can tag along next time!
