Spoke spoke with my dealer today. He felt this car will be arriving fall of '18.
I'm on the list for one and he seemed rather confident I'll get a car after the 918 folks and hopefully PTS like my voodoo gt4. He said he's already getting calls from out of state for to get on their list....good to know he's selling cars to the locals first!

I was told by my dealer they should be able to get me a .2RS. Had my deposit $ down for 2 years now. My dealer only sells at MSRP. Make sure you know what the ADM or lack thereof is going to be.
Droppoing off a botttle of Glenlivet to the GM next week as a holiday gifit. Doesn't hurt.

Cool I do the same thing. Bring a very good bottle to the GM and my SA every year. It reminds them of the Holidays and the "relationship" that goes a long way. Are you unloading your 991.1 GT3RS for the new 991.2 GT3RS? I was also informed the 991.2 GT3RS will have the same Frunk NACA duct work for the front brakes just as the GT2RS have.

Feel like we are getting close to some real info on the car. Traded my .1 in and left it as basically a pre pay on the .2. (Obviously i will be paying msrp difference). Miss the thing like crazy.... but its been snowing in Nyc so its not like I would be driving it anyways. In my head though its always 75 and sunny on the empty backroads....Need to move to a warm weather state! Sorry for getting off topic lol

ROTFLMAO, you are not alone. Same scenario here in Illinois, Dead cold here and toyz are in hibernation now. Yep cannot wait for the launch this March on the specifics of the 991.2 GT3RS. The way I look at it between GT2RS and the GT3RS, it is like "Regular" coffee versus "Decaffeinated" coffee, depending on what floats your boat. But both cars will for sure be stunning! Next year will for sure be fun!

I still have no idea why people keep insinuating there would be a cup edition. For the road.
Get a cup car, drive that on the road...totally miserable. Anything remotely as temperamental as a cup car...pass.

CJ,
Do you own old cars? I would drive a cup on the road (not that I have driven one to know). Can’t be any worse than a 49 Jag or 62 Ferrari (or a late model Exige lol). What do you mean temperamental?
Any more word on whether a 6MT is in the works? That is the only thing that would interest me in upgrading to the RS. Honestly, I still don’t think I would do it because I love the look of the touring, although my dream Porsche is a 997 RS frog (got to the dealer too late to get one and like an idiot turned down a 4.0 because I was poor enough to think the cost bump was material and thought the graphics looked stupid) if a manual was available in the 991.2 RS I might bite on a PTS green.

I'm a big fan of 991RS...keep on tracking my one and always surprised by how capable is on track (and comfy on the road at the same time); think the car needs just "minor" upgrades to be really perfect ...assuming a huge HP gain is not feasable in the current (and future) flat 6 NA world
30/40kilos less, 30/40 ponies more, more detailed steering, better 4WS action, and some more aero especially in the front (but this should be provided by the new bumper..speaking with some Cup drivers) would make a really great car, looking forward it...and hoping to get one!
Would be nice a PDK-S based on the new 8 speed which also seems to be lighter than the current one...but I don't think Porsche is willing to do that.
Going slightly OT...I say I'm not a fan of the current HP escalation driven by turbos, I think they add not much to the driving experience (apart the thrilling acceleration) but add more stress to brakes and tyres (the weak link in such an hyper-engineering of track oriented cars) taking off consistency along several lap times. The first time I tracked RS was a bit disappointed by the engine, actually I do believe that the car (with such a right ratioed gearbox) is a perfect package to go flat out and enjoy for an entire lap (along several laps) in terms of agility, late braking, number of upshifts etc..

I put a deposit for the incoming 99x in 2030. Its only 100usd but I am first on the list now. And I made it clear with the GM that I won't be bringing any spirits until that time. Winner me!
