At this stage- Euro delivery is very unlikely - just rent a porsche and put rock chips on someone else's car.
Good to know and probably sage advice. There's a chance I get fed-up in the hunt for the gt3 and pull the trigger on a TTS. I guess I'm in an interesting spot as either way it will be a low mileage, weekend cruiser with occasional track time. I've always appreciated NA which is why I've been leaning towards the 3 over the creature comforts of a TTS - though my wife is worried if we don't have a backseat she'll be stuck in the SUV while the dog rides shotgun in the 3 .

Once again, this is incorrect information.
Last week, Euro deliveries were being booked for end of July. If you manage to find an August (yes - there are August allocations) or later allocation, you will have no problem booking a Euro delivery after the August factory vacation. Don’t let the stupid threat of rock chips on your windshield deter you from an experience that many buyers have thoroughly enjoyed throughout several decades of Porsche purchases.
Market for GT3s in Europe seems a bit slow. Over 100 for sale on line and my dealer has two in stock unsold - a PTS Slate grey PDK and a Chalk Touring.

I've heard they did it for 918s for $20k. Told to me by dealer in FL. Otherwise never heard about other models.
they did other things that they don't usually allow for 918s, I was sworn to secrecy so I cant tell you what, but Im sure you can imagine what fantasies you might have about your car at the factory. The 918 owners also got a personal human tour guide at the museum and I think a special jacket to wear too. When I asked about all the special things they got, I was told they paid alot more for their car than you did-hahahah
I am not back-pedalling. You can get PPF installed on your Porsche at the factory. I don't understand the confusion here. Why would anyone think that Porsche makes PPF? Porsche is a vehicle manufacturer.
Right, but you did say factory at first. Nearby dealerships or other shops can provide clear bra/PPF, but nothing directly from factory.
I had my Cayenne Turbo S with protective film delivered at the factory when I picked it up 3 years ago. Do not know who did it but, I paid Porsche if I remember correctly.
