People arent as nice as they used to be or maybe its me lol
It is VERY hard to leave SD. But I would like a change of scenery. Ill always have a home here. My businesses and investments are all out here as well so it would be difficult to move.
I have a ton of family out in Dallas but I cant stand the weather. Cost of living is a plus though

People are really nice out here. At first I was thinking "what do these people want?" but you get used to it. Refreshing!

We walk into the grocery store and EVERY TIME my wife sees someone she knows. For the next 20 minutes I stand there smiling, thinking "those rude people in Orange Country actually weren't that bad."

I used to live in Orange County. The car community up there is INSANE.

It is beautiful here, but like everywhere there are pros and cons. The cold can be really cold. But there are breaks. We literally go from the teens to 50 pretty fast, but this year we had -15 or so I think. But it is sunny a lot. The winds have been pretty nasty this year too. Not as expensive as Cali, but we are getting there. On the plus side, amazing driving roads, awesome scenery, very active culture here. And this is where the GT3 was meant to be driven. But we are a mile + up (serious power loss for NA engines), so like everything else in Colorado, there are pros and cons.
Still, we love it. Very different pace here.
BTW, my wife's sister lives in San Diego. It is a nice area with great weather. But I think most take the weather for granted. Out here, nice days in the winter are noticed and utilized. I think you would miss SD though. Maybe second home?

Every place has its ups and downs. Its just a state im highly considering. I plan to take a trip out there to visit friends later this year as well as go up to Seattle and Oregon.

If you're talking about a storm, the jet stream will push that north into Wyoming... We are going to be warm and dry for awhile now (60's starting tomorrow)...
I'm a transplant from Southern California also (though I've been here for almost 35 years) and I occasionally miss CA, but overall am much happier here.
OR and WA are great, but make sure you visit in Winter and Summer to get an accurate impression (pretty gloomy for many months of the year). CO gets cold occasionally, but usually sunny and that is much easier to handle than gloomy for me...
For track folks, we have the best situation in the country in terms of cost and open track day availability. 4 hours for $90 on (whole day for well less than double that). Very low-key on Fridays in warm months and weekends in cold months. Lots of track time, unlike going to a DE where you sit around most of the time...
