Everyone's fighting, trying to establish order and civility from the despair of depreciation, possible financial ruin and the self-destruction of our own temptations and vices. Then - just when everyone plunges into savagery, we are presented with grandiose pictures of family vacations, and exotic cars surrounded by mansions and Christmas lights: a perfectly parallel tribute to the symbolism portrayed by the conch shell in "Lord of the Flies." The conch shell symbolized law and order, and everyone found refuge from the chaos when the conch shell was raised. Uploading these family vacation pictures was no different... we were trying to change the subject before we slipped into chaos and had a stark reminder that our inner demons are merely lurking in our own shadows. It is easy to see we are all savages masquerading under the thin veil of temporary civility.

This was as dark and as spooky as anything posted on Rennlist this year, including the episode when Martin went full Kafkaesque on us earlier this summer.
Can you summarize in layman’s terms in small words so I can understand what you are trying to say?

Thanks.

Great reviews of the Mac's, good to hear different perspectives. I have been kicking around grabbing a 675LT for some time now...and if the itch continues, may have to scratch it. Hear a lot about how raw it is, which is making me favor it over the 720S. Might hang on to my current stable and see if they make a 7XXLT down the road.

675LT is my favorite McLaren that I've driven.

Never had seat time in a Senna or a P1, however.

The ethos with which McLaren approaches their cars is so completely different from Porsche I almost feel like you need to understand the philosophy to appreciate the cars. I'm also a massive fan of the current cars, they really feel like one or two generations beyond their competitors, but I'm a luddite and for now still prefer a manual transmission and an na engine.

What I like (liked?) about this thread was being able to read McLaren experiences from the perspective of folks who also appreciate GT cars and might have a more track centric and dare I say practical perspective as far as really driving these cars. The 600lt in particular is a car I was waiting for since I test drove a 570s a year ago, hope to hear some more reviews and comparisons from GT car owners. the value discussion is a downer.
Yup. Not sure how to say TAKE IT OUTSIDE in a polite way. "Value" in this topic has to do with the success of Mac. And succeed is what Mac is doing. Love my Pcars, love my Mac and it will be a few more years before my 570S looses a single penny. "evil grin" If ya gotta chase the latest and greatest then the price you pay is just part of the admission to that club. Not my club but like looking in the window.
And if a 720S Coupe rubs my rhubarb next spring when the 720S spiders come out........

THAT is awesome! Time to get one of those in here and make some downpipes for it. The 600LT is going to be an exciting car to work with to say the least haha

They will make the 7xxLT in both coupe and spider form for certain. And my betting is it will be the best performance, sub-$million car ever made (until Mac make the next one!!). Interesting part will be do they push the limits or keep performance separation from the Senna? Again my bet will be that it comes very close to the Senna. Can’t wait

Will be difficult to deal with inherent weight issues - senna will always be the most extreme crash diet/ cram before finals/ uppers to help stay awake type of rush.

My orange LT arrives home soon, eager to give a track day report.

I'm curious where you'll place 600Lt as Nutella %age of Senna. Senna blew past P1 for me with its aero, lightweight, and frankly absurd braking.. is 600Lt 70% of that at fraction of the price?
