Thanks for that info! I based the 5 year estimate on the time to approval for Sport Classsic grey, which I assume had enough of a lobby to keep restricted.

It's your guess & you are entitled to it. But their were only 250
owners of that Sport Classic 'Limited Edition' 997 and the exclusivity
of it was removed after a 918 VIP asked for it on his Spyder as PTS.
So the 918 trumped the 'Sport Classic'. Same as for 'Speedster Blue'
and the previously retired 'gt3 RS Orange'. 'Sport Classic Grey' was
allowed on the 'informal' approved list for us mere mortals by some
strange, back-door method. And I think PAG probably has come
to regret the dilution of what was a very special hue once reserved
for that unique model.

In the case of the PCA, the current & previous Board took a personal
interest in the formulation of the color & they feel 'ownership'. And
you don't want to risk pissing off 100,000 members (and some of your
best customers in a strong US dollar denominated market) for such a
trivial matter as releasing 'their' PCA personalized/invested 'Club Blue'
color to an 'approved' PTS list. What is the upside in that? I would
counsel Porsche against it...if I was in their shoes.

But I must say stranger things have happened at PAG...so who knows!

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but excluding VIP's, does anyone know if a slotted buyer can spec a PTS color without it being available on the configurator? ( I realize that it might still fall through). That includes PTL and any other exclusive that might not be publicly listed?

I don't believe the approved PTS compiled every few months
by PAG is yet on the configurator at your local dealer. The list,
in the past, was received by individuals dealers via email/pdf
from PCNA Atlanta & can be shared with prospective customers
who are interested in PTS at the discretion of the dealers.

The last PTS list we were able to publish without violating
the new 'For Internal Use Only - Confidential' warning
was one dating from 5/12/2015!

You can see the approved at the link below:

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...91-gt3-rs.html

Anyone that has a Porsche allocation from a dealer can
apply for PTS option if that particular 'window' is open
at the time. It's much easier to get PTS on a regular
model (991, 718, Macan, Panamera or Cayenne) than
in a gt or 'Limited Edition' Porsche model.

PTL? Did you mean Leather to Sample (LTS)? If so, that is
also available on a separate list that a dealer should be able
to access. Below I have attached the one we published here
that is a few years old.

Also all the deviated stitching options are normally not available
via the web configurator. But these are normally found in the order
guide that is available to your dealer via the PCNA computers when
placing an order.

In case of any questions, best to go directly to a representative of
Porsche Exclusive at PCNA (Atlanta & LA) & get a definite answer
to any question involving these specialized options! Below is their
email address:

Thanks so much Eduardo! It would've taken me a while to get the same straight answers anywhere else. I have the 1st slot at the dealership plus a deposit with a signed contract for the .2GT3, but I've wondered how the PTS decision fits into it. You've answered that.

And yes I meant Leather to Sample.

Prior to specing my order I'm planning on going to PCNA in Atlanta with my SA. In fact they offered that to me.

I was also told that I'll be able to add PTS + other exclusives in person at that time. I was just wondering if these appeared in the configurator beforehand and you've answered that too.

One other question.....Do you know who replaced Mellissa Wittek? (sp).

You are welcome, Dannie! Good that you were able
to request with your dealer PTS on your .2 gt3 custom
order! But make sure that his allocation for your gt3
coincides with PAG's PTS window being opened for that
particular model once it's announced. That can be a
problem...so keep that in mind & be pro-active!

Keep us posted of your progress after talking to the
Porsche Exclusive reps in Atlanta. Thanks.

Melissa Witek was supposed to be replaced earlier
this year by someone with some experience in the
business of Exclusive. But I don't know yet if that
position has been filled. Perhaps someone here at
Rennlist knows & can tell us the name of that new
employee. The person making the decision is the
senior manager for the Porsche Exclusive department
in the US. That person is Barbara Boeckenhoff - who
is also based in Atlanta - and replaced the first US
manager Sasha Glaeser a few years ago.

A more junior person was hired earlier this year
to work in the PE department in Atlanta. Her
(?) name is Yana Nikolayeva. She is a Porsche
Exclusive - Personal Design Specialist. I never
met this person yet. I assume 'Yana' is a MS
and not a Mister!

And in Los Angeles (perhaps already relocated
to the Porsche Experience Center in Carson) are
Design Specialists Phillip Mauney & Florian Truffner:

Wow! Thank you very, very much Eduardo ,,,and boyko!! I'll contact my SA to verify the PTS window as you suggested. I know it's a short one. And thanks too for the personnel info. I knew you had posted some time back and I tried searching for it, but came up empty. I'll let you know what happens.

I can't make up my mind what color to choose? But that's a good problem to have. Thank you again my friend! Dannie

I am sure it has been said before, but good wraps are getting better and better everyday, and can be done for under $4K. You get double benefit of color and paint protection. Wrap a black car and the jambs and gaps don't matter. PTS has been so sketchy lately with delays and overspray etc. I respect the purists, but those who just see the color as a fashion thing, wrap is 100% better use of the money.

Good point - a good wrap is a minimum of $2k (much more for total coverage), so that helps with the total cost. Do you think there is any risk of paint damage when removing a wrap?

Do we have any idea how much PTS will be for upcoming GT3/RS/GT2?

I'm assuming it's going to cost more.

Shouldn't it be the same cost as it would be for a 911 Turbo? Just under $7k I think.

No idea.
I think it's a bit more $$$ in Canada compared to the US.
