6k track maintenance

This is my wheel/tire change. Nothing special, first time for myself (and first time this tire shop had ever seen a CL!). 35 mins including plugging the tire. They didn't even charge as they were so enthralled working on something a bit different!

With a pedal lock, I changed all 4 wheels off the ground and retorqued in 12 minutes.
no big deal but if you don't have a second set of track wheels I wouldn't even bother buying the tools.. they only come off for new tires pads and rotors and the shop does that now that I'm lazy.

Apologies mate. I knew Joe was close but I didnt realise you already had the T-shirt! More amazing still you both have your original F engines! Not sure what you are doing different from the rest but obviously putting the majority of the miles you have in the car, on the track, has obviously helped!
The car has been running well. I've done more than the required maintenance, and the cost hasn't been outlandish. Had a few codes here and there which went away and didn't seem to be of any consequence. No signs of engine issues that I can discern, other than rough idle a few times, and the rate of oil consumption has gone down. On the road, the transmission sometimes has a slight jarring sensation when going from 4th to 3rd, which the dealer wasn't really able to replicate or do anything about at this time, but at least it's on record.
Front of the car has had a difficult life. A minivan threw off a chunk of tire at me on the highway, which cracked the bumper cover, so I replaced it under insurance. Last week, I hit a groundhog on track at 140 mph, which damaged the bumper cover beyond repair. We're going to repair the original bumper (crack was small) and put that back on the car, else this would have cost me about $10K.

Thanks Rich. Congrats on being the first on here to run 6000 track miles in the 991.1 GT3 (that Im aware of). That's around 40 track days by my calculations.
On the subject of CL. This generation seem to be without issue? I dont think Ive read a single post on any forum about issues with the CL. Actually after having a nail on the way to a track day at the other end of teh country recently and stopping at a road side tyre show to remove and plug (I had my own 400lbft wrench on board) I was surprised at how easy and quick it was for us to get the car off the car, de beaded, plugged and back on the car. Granted there were two of us (making holding the brake pedal easy) but this was first time for the shop and myself and I just read out the manual pages Id printed off and it all went bery smoothly. The who process including the plug and de beading took 35 mins.
I know alot of folk are putting "5 lug wheels" on their wish list for the 991.2 GT3 and I think many of those are folk that dont own the current generation GT3/RS, but quite honestly the CL is not a show stopper for these cars any longer like it may have been for some in the past...
Now Im off to touch some wood!
