Default Center lock fallacy highlighted in a video

The worst idea from Porsche ever is now highlighted by this video. Now all the wannabe's think the wheels are legit. Someone please explain to them the reality of these stupid center lock wheels or we're gonna see some more hubs falling off like we did in the 997

Good luck doing that on a car with PCCBs without a mounting tool

Cool video!

Not the most ignorant thing I've seen, but probably in the top 10.

technically as long as car is off
the ground and impact gun is set to correct tq this can be done
but u need new CL nuts every change. nuts are not cheap.

they should also ck to see the locking pin is all the way out

the wheel cap is not put back thus accumulate dust and cause spring locking pin to stick next time

if one really wants to be cool then run full on cup car cl

That's how I remember my first wheel change went, but much much faster pace than shown in the video!! Better play that video on fast forward to get an accurate picture. Mark

and they didn't loosen the nuts a 1/4 turn and re-torque per manual or grease the nuts....

if only we could use air wrenches in real life on the RS. alas, these are not Cup car center-locks..

Did a track event at COTA with a different region than mine (mine is Maverick) and they require that all CL car owners remove and re-install CL. I hated it so much, am never running with them again, especially after fighting one of the locking pins for 20 minutes to get it out to position. And the nuts are now scratched, ugh.

Funny but by now we all know the powertools cannot be used on street CLs...

I get the commercial point but the OP is right that this puts all kinds of false expectations in all kinds of people...

One of my secret wishes is that 5 stud wheels are an option, or indeed standard, on the 991.2 GT3....just like the GT4. I hate CLs.
