I bought one with lift, pre-specced. All other cars that I spec are without lift.

Cars and coffee crowd wants lift.

Track rats don't need it.

Unless you have an insanely steep driveway then you might need it- who cares. I replace the rubber lip and move on. My old 997RS I went through 4 of them.

I'm with Mooty and Spyerxx :

Minimal options on my builds but I like a little weird accent color or stitch.

I know I'm not reflective of every single buyer out there, but I personally passed on a few cars because they didn't have the lift. I can't be the only one who has it as a 'must have'. I needed lift, PCCBs and LWBs... everything else I was flexible on.
Most dealerships don't care on trade in from what I can tell but many deals are done relative to MSRP.

GT3 - 18,000 Miles - No lift - still on original OEM lip. But I am careful parking not to run it into or over the cement parking blocks. 3RS front has even more front clearance so ordered mine without lift. One inch Lift
will not clear cement parking blocks anyway. Never regretted not ordering it.

I ordered it, like Mooty said more than the lip rubs. Roads here have bad drainage troughs at intersections, also steep driveway. If it breaks out of warranty just remove it.

FWIW, when I listed my 991.1GT3 for sale, the first question asked was whether the car had a front lift. Lost a few buyers when I told them the car did not have one. This despite giving some of reasons posted in this thread for not having one.

When I order the 991.2 version of either the GT3 or RS, I am now uncertain whether I would order it.

I would never buy a used RS with lift. For RS less is more.

The problem is lot of new buyers think having the lift will solve all ground clearance issues and make the car uber usable. I was one of them. Couldn't be more wrong.

With all the 3's and RS's for sale out there, I don't think it will be too difficult to find one, with or without a lift that meets your specs.

Another point for not getting the lift....the GT4s never had an option for lift and they've sold very well.

How does the overhang of gt4 relate to GT3?

I was talked into putting lift on my car. I'd rather go with other options next time. Perhaps PCCB perhaps or just keep the sticker price down.

It's low as well.

My GT4 scrapes everywhere. No big deal though.

GT4 approach angle is 6°, GT3 is 5.8°.

The problem with this thread is that the OP is canvassing Rennlisters, who are not really representative of the general market for GT3/RSs, esp. used GT3/RSs.

If the question was "Will no lift hurt RS resale values when selling to Rennlisters?" then the answer is probably a "NO".

But if the question as presented by the OP is "Will no lift hurt RS resale value [period]?" then I think the safer and probably more accurate answer is a "YES".

But again, all of this begs the question of why anyone would buy a car for the next owner. But then that's for another thread, of which we already have many.

Good luck to the OP, and enjoy the RS (with or without lift).
