Default 991 GT3 RS lap Nur @7min BTG(bridge to gantry)

Christof from Manthey is driving, cars Is on KW. For reference, a 7min BTG lap is just the same speed/time more or less as Porsche factory lap with Timo Kluck who did 7.20min full Sport Auto lap in 991 GT3 RS( Timo had a few damp areas on track when Porsche did set that lap as I understand)

To get full lap on a BTG lap, ad gantry-bridge( time it take a well drive 991 GT3 RS on that section and ad that to time, then take out ap. 4 seconds for a RS on section T13 wich is not driven in sport auto lap.

He accually is going tru lowest area of foxhole, the compression at 230 due to lift of gaspedal after 250. Bmw werks driver do 260 tru lowest area in compression, thats wild Life Also he lift just before but get hard on gaspedal instant to go tru compression at 260 km/h gps speed.

Porsche previus werks tester Timo Kluck apparently did 260 gps in foxhole in 991 GT3 RS. No video or datatrace to see where he reach that, but my guess looking at manthey video he could go tru compression 260 just as bmw m4 GTS did.

I saw/heard the lift after he hit 250, then hard acceleration as you say. I can't imagine 230 all the way through it let alone 260. I think Kobalt said in another thread the factory drivers hit 300 through there in the 918. Wild life is right...

Astonishing lap. I find the car such a buzz to watch on videos due to the noise and riffle gear changes. Great to watch a top driver take it round the Ring.

I was also wondering about his relatively low speed through the compression in fuchserohre though. Are the cars bottoming out so much there so he backs off for that?

Agree, fun to whatch this One.

I know christof a bit tru my friend at manthey and he is solid driver. I guess in the end this is One lap on video, the next could be flat tru compression . Christof was also One of 3 drivers in manthey GT4 Clubsport and they did win 24h in that class just recently. Also driving that car was Christian G( sport auto tester) and new development driver at Porsche Lars Kern(as it seems he took over Timo Klucks jobb)

The stock 991 GT3 RS rubb twice tru compression if full speed at 260 according to Timo Kluck, is normal ( if to belive what Timo told in the past)

Wow. This lap seems so much smoother than
Marco Mapelli in LP750SV. I realize it's a bit
less fast.

Amazing how drama free it looks to me...

Do I understand it correctly? Add 4sec to his time to get the full lap of 7.04?

No, you need to ad long straight(Döttingerhöe section, exactly from gantry to bridge)

Time that and ad to time, then take out ap. 4 seconds for T13 section(ca. 180m slightly upward, T13 is Old pit, hence sport auto and factory do not drive that)

That said, same car, time a car/driver that has equaly solid driving/same pace overal. This is not same performance(but very close, BMW full 7.27.88 vs Porsche RS factory 7.20min full sport auto lap) but to show the idé, time long straight from Audi steel gantry begining on straight stop time at bridge end straight.

I wonder what difference can be attributed to the KW suspension and manthey geometry to this lap.

Did Porsche ever do a full unrestricted lap in the 991 GT3RS?

I know in the 991 GT3 they say they did at 7.25 (closest comparable we have seen by an amateur is 7.28 - Emanuel).

As far as I know we have never seen any in car footage of either hero lap.

If manufactures want to convince us they should put up their in car footage like the M4 GTS I think...

You can get that info from my post i guess, if you look on the whole, but ca. 25 seconds For M4 GTS(please note its not datalogg/trace info)

But let say 991 RS is 24seconds, then take out 4 seconds For T13, then we get it. 7 min btg lap + straight 24sec then -4 sec. That 7.20min factory lap, sport auto lenght of Nur.

these thing with laptimes, whats fast is often depending on who you ask and what kind of reference points those asked have.

7min btg in stock RS, thats fast i think as its same as Porsche factory driver more or less. (7min BTG translate to 7.20min full sport auto lap, driven in 991 GT3 RS factory driver Timo Kluck)

7.20min BTG in stock GT4, thats also very fast as its also translate to same laptime as Porsche factory lap in GT4(7.40 full sport auto lap that is)

I guess to some these times will not be easy to understand due to different track lenghts driven. But those used to Nur get it easy I would say. So i guess people will value you 7.38 min BTG quite different, if its in a 991 gt3 Rs i say its slow🤔☺️. Others will think its fast. Nothing strange really.
