991 GT3 RS lap Nur @7min BTG(bridge to gantry)
#16
But I'm quite happy with my laptime, as I have a large amount of progression on a driving point but also with the car. I will publish the video a bit later in the track video section!

I ment not to be disrespectfull , just saying. Time For 991 GT3 is 5 seconds slower than 991 RS on Nur when Porsche factory lap.
So we can in the same way take 991 GT3 factory time 7.25 min full sport auto lenght. Now we Take out ca. 25 sec for long straight(Audi gantry-bridge), but now we must ad ca.4+seconds For T13 to get the right BTG lap For 991 GT3, we end up at 7.05min(4-5sec For T13 section)
So Emanuel is in my book fast in that 991 GT3 lap of his, was it not 7.14btg?!
Please, this is just ca. estimated times, we need to consider that, still its more or less what it is. Its not based on datatrace.
Then again I have lots of datatrace on lots of cars, then its real. But no data on these cars, but I guess its more or less give or take Max a few seconds either way.
Great anyway, its a challanging track For sure, Looking forward to see you video lap then👍

My goal is reach sub 7:30 this year!
After that, I have no idea how fast I can go knowing that I'm currently not willing to do a setup just to improve my BTG!

Thats the fun part, to always compete against own personal best👍
I am sure you will get there(30 btg time), those competitive and timing them selfe eventually do👍

Emmanuel's BTG was with speed restrictions in place. He estimated it at 7.28 full lap at the time IIRC. His commentary on the lap is on this board if you look for it - it was done in his own acid green 991.1 GT3.
He ran Trofeo R with some modest geometry changes (-2.8 front camber) but nothing extreme. There are almost numerous posts of his full laps at RSR days.
7.32 full lap was the best on his first time in a stock RSR rental car. He has an RS inbound so we will hopefully get a few new videos from him at the end of summer.
I hear KW is being used on a few new track GT3 in Europe. The feedback is positive. I assume this is a firmer set up. I'd love to hear from anyone running KW on a GT3 or RS
Here is Manus commentary from the other thread:
"Hi everyone!
Happy that you liked the video.
I have never lapped BTG as I prefer to record a full lap but now with the speed limits I loose few seconds on the straight and it is better to consider BTG times.
So if you calculate a full lap it is plus 17 seconds (23 of the straight minus 5 seconds of T13 straight because all the official laptimes are taken without T13).
So this was a lap of 7.31 full lap starting from the box.
Coming directly from the straight it is 2.3 seconds faster with speed limit, in fact if you look at my Telemetry on the right, I have to challenge my previous lap that started 2 seconds faster as it was a launched lap.
I can do 7.28 and the official time is 7.25, I don't think I will be able to achieve 7.25 but it is pretty close as well.
With the Speciale I did 7.27 (there weren't speed limits) and ideal time from telemetry of 7.24. The official time said by test drivers is 7.20."

Best way to not make these times confusing is to set start And finish on T13 and then we have same as all factorys and sport auto. I will on my next trackday use start/stop on T13, just like BMW M4 GTS video. Then its full track except ca. 180meters on t13 not driven. Thats since long the standard. Sure thats only possible to do on trackday. I will never use BTG start/finish on trackday again.
Its to many things that could effect. As Manuel say, and I agree on that...if accelerating out of pit in a BTG start/finish lap you will lose ca. 2 seconds vs if doing a full speed flyer start in a stock GT4. My 7.30 BTG lap in my stock GT4 is accelerating BTG start and it cost me 2 seconds.
Due to pass starting point at bridge at ca.175km/h vs flying full vmax in GT4 at 265km/h past bridge start point will cut time.
I was on same trackday as that green GT3 that day, so I was also on speed limit that day so can relate to that. Even a lowpower stock GT4 go past the set speed limits we had 2015 at 250km/h Döttingerhöe, 200 flugplatz and 250 SwedenX. So not fun to go below that here when car is up For way more speed. In a slow car like Suzuki Swift(130hp) you could gain ca. 3 seconds on the BTG lap if full speed flyer start vs accelerating out of pit btg start. So depending on how you start the btg lap it will differ in time, if to compare One need to know. Datatrace tell us exakt delta of course, and we logging will know, others might not think of that☺️

Here manthey racing put new Porsche development driver Lars K in the manthey GT4. Lars K was also the One setting the fast lap just now in Porsche panamera.
This lap also show t13 sport auto lap, the only easy real Nur laptime. Hence we should drive like this, use same start/stop. I will next time anyway. Lars take ca. 10 seconds on Porsche factory lap GT4. It was 7.40min just the same lap lenghts as Lars K now drive in manthey GT4 at 7.29 full sport auto lap. (Not stock this GT4, I might do this kit on my GT4 if keep For next year)

Yes. I agree what you say about BTG times are too difficult to compare and pit times plus the speed limits. Also worth mentioning is recent changes to parts of the track that may improve safety and give confident/experienced drivers a little more latitude and speed in certain areas of the track.

Had fun watching this! One of the guys at MR also sent me this vid... He said the only upgrades were MR/KW suspension (that they will offer soon) and WEC RSR magnesium wheels. Congrats for an awesome lap at Nur!

Christof from Manthey is driving, cars Is on KW. For reference, a 7min BTG lap is just the same speed/time more or less as Porsche factory lap with Timo Kluck who did 7.20min full Sport Auto lap in 991 GT3 RS( Timo had a few damp areas on track when Porsche did set that lap as I understand)
On a side-note, does this mean Ultraviolet is now the fastest color....?
