This is a bit strange. I reported a while ago that I received a card in the mail with a notice saying my car may have updates pending. It also shows my VIN number. I've called my dealer and another close by dealer and they both ran my VIN # and said there is no updates showing in their system. Very strange I received this letter.

Perhaps they are staging which VINs they accept into the campaign to prevent a run on the dealers?

Got a call today that my service people are waiting for parts and instructions but recall may be system wide. At least it is at the end of track season in the PNW.

Time for work
I haven't done plugs/packs on my GT3RS yet, but am encouraged that it is only a 2 hr job. On my 996TT, it was more like 4 hours. The rear bumper had to come off, and the intercoolers had to come off, and it was all a bit easier if you lowered the engine a few inches. Some claimed that with the right combo of swivels, you could do it without such disassembly, but a.) I didn't have a lift so space was tighter, b.) I was always afraid of cross-threading a plug if it was attached to too many swivels.
Two hours sounds like a breeze

Gent's,
I received a proactive phone call yesterday from my service manager on this recall in which he stated my VIN# was not affected. I have a late '14 or early '15 build date. I will see if I can get additional info on what was the determining factor on why only certain VIN's are effected…
Here is his response for what's it's worth..
It’s all based on production time and parts that were used at that time. Usually it’s a bad batch of parts they received during the production.

2015 with a November delivery date here. I texted my SA yesterday. He looked up my VIN and didn't find a recall....yet. I agree that this will probably affect all of us at some point.

I just called my service rep. My car was built late Oct. 2015. No service campaign shown in Porsche's records for my car. I have to assume that it must a campign limited to a series of affected cars and if more widespread that it will the staged sequentially.
