RS engine failure
They fixed the bolt. This time it was the nut.

Uh oh, Houston we have a problem....not looking good for everyone asking $100k over MSRP. Just another reason to wait to buy it used after all the gremlins get worked out. At least the engine in the GT4 has already been road tested.

Engines fail.
These are mechanical parts.
The thing to take from all of this is that Porsche is replacing the engines. No questions asked (at least from appearances).

I don't think they have a choice....it's called a WARRANTY...just saying. Hope this isn't the repeat of what happened with 2014 GT3s.

Well the first mistake was them buying a POS car so bad on them. I wouldn't buy a vette even if it was for a $1. Like I said, let's just hope that this isn't the start of another engine recall for the RS. If not, those big premiums will evaporate very quickly.

While Porsche (and its corporate pencil-pushers) are by no accounts perfect, they are certainly better than most other car makers.
Can you imagine blowing out an engine rod at, say, Laguna Seca, and then have your auto manufacturer play dumb and say, "well, um, are you sure you know how to drive a car this fast?"

Engine failures or not, one thing many of us Porsche owners take for granted is the level of reliability and Porsche customer service vis-a-vis other marques.

They say this is the second engine failure in track? I wonder if the second one was the White car that also got damage at the track. That car had burn marks around the same area. Just a thought. There can't be more than 4-500 units of GT3RS delivered worldwide now surely. I wonder if they will run a stop sale recall....

They lowered the redline to 8800 to, ahem, supposedly mitigate issues that the GT3 had.
