Some GT3s getting their engine replaced - again

A friend just sent the article to me. It's interesting that they have a specific number of cars and that it appears to be a camshaft issue. I wonder how Porsche arrived at 'about' a dozen cars?

So how do we know which cars will have their engines replaced?

Some GT3s greeting their engine replaced - again
Jeesh!! What in the world is going on here, and how have they come to the conclusion that it only involves a limited number of cars? More info definitely needed here!

A dozen cars out of the 2000+ produced doesn't seem like that big a deal to me. I don't own a 991 GT3, but if I did, I wouldn't mind getting a fresh new engine every so often, especially if I had tracked the p**s out of the old one.

Probably a faulty batch from a parts supplier? Since 4 are used as 'Ring taxis I imagine the cars were delivered at basicly the same time.

I find this rather reassuring.
Porsche identifies the problem, isolates it to the best of its abilities, and resolves it proactively.
What more can a consumer ask for?

Interesting how many seem to react based on certain underlying assumptions about Porsche or a positive or negative outlook on things in general. Frankly, I can't tell what the heck is actually going on from reading that article alone.

Don't worry you can still buy one with 6k miles for over sticker. I bet those prices will now go up because the sellers will say they now have zero miles.
