Could it be--Magic Bamboo Metallic?!!!
What a great investigative team we have at Rennlist! First we have Daniel finding out about a Cayenne in Germany that one of the websites has listed as 'Magic Bamboo Metallic'.
I was skeptical...then Alex chimes in that he has seen a Panamera GTS at Leipzig. And when he asked about it, he was told it was indeed 'Magic Bamboo Metallic'!
Well, if that is indeed the case, then below are the photos of that 'Magic Bamboo Metallic' Panamera GTS which I took a few hours ago on my visit to Porsche Leipzig!
Your Rennlist PTS reporter is on the job! And to think some don't think they are getting their money's worth for their Rennlist membership!
*****
I got to Porsche Leipzig two hours ahead of my scheduled noon 'Carrera Lunch mit factory tour'. The idea was to see what little diamond could be discovered in the rough (if I could get that lucky!). Of all the Porsches in & around the Customer Center building (which, incidentally, is referred to as the 'Diamond' by Porsche & as the 'UFO' by German locals), three vehicles immediately stood out to me because of their unusual color! And this 'green' Panamera was one of them! I found the GTS in an area which is not accessible to the public - in the back of the Customer Center!
I will check with my contacts at 'Porsche Leipzig' to see what they have to say about this 'Bamboo Magic Metallic' GTS. But I don't expect it will be anything more than what I am about to tell you regarding a new color that I spotted on two vehicles at Leipzig today.

Ya, I agree, it doesn't look exactly the same, but it would be hard to imagine they'd do PTS already, since the window for all PTS should be closed. So I'm guessing a new green that hasn't been seen before, and magic bamboo might fit the bill. It's not on the configurator yet, but who knows...

New upcoming Porsche color???

Something is going on with this color...and it's not the same
'Magic Bamboo Metallic' that we saw earlier on that Cayenne
or my photos taken at Porsche Leipzig last July.
But it looks like a new color (regardless what they call it) under
consideration for at least the 911 Turbo & perhaps other models!
This is a .2 991 Turbo. Note that the license plate: 'BB*CR 125',
which stands for Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg. Such plate is
often associated with a Weissach test car. So my bet is that this
is a Porsche factory vehicle, not a customer PTS car!
***
Here was a similar Weissach factory gt4 in which 'Miami Blue'
was tested. I personally saw this car at Zuffenhausen during
my visit last July!
***
And here is a different Turbo (with regular 'red' calipers, not PCCBs)
at Weissach as reported by someone recently here in Rennlist. It's
a .1 991 Turbo, so they were experimenting with this green metallic
color for at least one year. Coincidence that these metallic green
turbos are showing up at Weissach or with Weissach area plates,
I don't think so!
****
And here was my response to the fellow that posted the photo,
although it was never subsequently determined as to the color:
Did you get to talk to the owner and find out
the exact PTS color?
It looks too light & rich to be the popular 'Oak Green Metallic'...
And there are many other possibilities of 'green metallic' PTS paints
which we are not that familiar with in their current 991/981 form:
And it could also be a few approved green metallics that are not
listed above! These types of 'metallic' greens were a particular
favorite color of Ferry Porsche!
If you could find out for us, we all would appreciate it!

So keep you eyes on this new metallic green color. It might be
the re-formulated 'Magic Bamboo Metallic' that Daniel is talking
about and that we brought up at my luncheon with 'Porsche
Exclusive' staff back in July at Zuffenhausen. Here is what I
wrote about it back in July after Daniel told me the info he had
found out just before my meeting with 'Porsche Exclusive'!

I am also a fan of solid/uni colors on...
any automobile!
The two are not necessarily related.
I anticipate that the PTS window will
open for MY2017 Porsche models pretty
soon. Some have heard it will be April.
Others have said this summer. I would
think as soon as the order books are
opened & allocations handed-out at PAG
for the MY2017 models, we should see
the PTS window opened too! At least
that has been the recent historical
precedent!
The next gt3...anyone guess is as good
as mine. MY2018????

Any educated (or even wild) guesses as to when this 991 generation will end? Based on past history wouldn't one expect 992 in 2020 or so? And if true, is a MY18 gt3 likely with enough time for .2 RS and possibly some final edition (?cup edition)? Or does the fact we're only now seeing .2 cars of any sort suggest we may not see another gt3 and RS, especially if a R and gt2(RS) are expected as 991 cars? Or is it possible they'd release many new models simultaneously?

Sascha Glaeser's 'Orange' 911 RSR Clone is for sale...
Some of you might remember that I talked about the special 911 that
Sascha Glaeser, former head of 'Porsche Exclusive' at PCNA, had for
sale at Rennsport V last September at a booth in Laguna Seca:

Well, it has surprisingly shown up for sale at the used-car agent that I
know in Orange County, CA - Paul Kramer's AutoKennel (he is a fellow
R Gruppe member).
http://www.autokennel.com/AutoKennel...ditioning.html
If any of you are interested in pursuing it, here are the particulars & background on the car & the owner:
1)) Here is Rennwerkstatt website still showing the car:
http://www.rennwerkstatt.com
***
2) Here is the builder's website in Germany - Scuderia-Eleven.de:
http://www.scuderia-eleven.de/galerie/index.html
**
Sascha's car is called 'Project LA' since that was it's destination!

***
I have no financial interest in the selling of this vehicle. It's just
that Sasha Glaeser was the individual that put 'Porsche Exclusive'
on the map here in the United States and I would like to help him
out if I can with this sale now that he is no longer working for
Porsche and needs the funds to start a new phase in his career.
And, compared to products from 'Singer Vehicle Design' &
'Magnus Walker', this 'Scuderia Eleven' German-made recreation
is priced quite right at just $164,990!

918 owners got special PTS privileges...but also paid a hefty price for it!
Repost from the 'Pastel Orange 991 gt3' thread on this forum,
but of interest in making it part of this PTS reference thread!
***
Tom:
Yes, 918 owners were able to get anything they wanted PTS...that
is for damn sure! And indeed 'Continental Orange' was on that list.
This is not the complete list (as os 12/2014) but what was shown
on this partial list of approved PTS colors for on the 918 is quite
impressive:
Not shown on the list above but known PTS colors to have been later
done to client's 918 include:
Acid Green Metallic
Arrow Blue
Pure Blue (from the '12 .2 997 Speedster)
Plus the super unique two color painted 918's that are
in a league of their own (color & price-wise)!
The Last of the 918s - the special PTS cars & their stories!
https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...r-stories.html
As an aside, here are the breakout of colors for the
918's delivered to the US by PCNA, according to
knowledgeable 918 owner LarryF:

Congratulations, RSR!
I have a question for you. Our understanding is that you
could only have done your .1 991 gt3 RS in one of these
three colors ('Racing Yellow', 'Black' or 'Miami Blue') if you
were eligible for PTS on your original RS allocation. So in
order to move up your completion date (by several months),
you could forgo your original PTS color request and go with
these 'expedited' colors for the RS. That is apparently what
you did, correct? What is the original color that you gave up
to select 'Racing Yellow' for your RS?
