What's the fascination with white?

RLs: As of September 24, 2014, straight from Porsche AG, is the current break-down of all 2015 991 GT3, exterior color rates: I would agree that 60% or more of all GT3 models ever built, are in fact white; however, I was surprised to see the current breakdown concerning the 2015 991 GT3... White: 25.4% Black: 21% Carrara White Metallic: 10.5% Agate Gray Met: 9.4% Jet Blk Met: 7.2% Guards Red: 6.1% GT Silver Met: 6.1% Sapphire Blue Met: 5.5% Rhodium Silver Met: 3.3% Racing Yellow: 2.8% Dark Blue Met: 2.8% In the end, I went with Guards Red. White was a close second. My third choice was Sapphire. Cheers/BB

Burning Brakes
White is a great color but it needs some vinyl rap or at least a stripe with some color. The reason the cup cars are white because it's a great canvas for the racing teams vinyl rap colors. I originally ordered white but switched to black. I think the Martini Porsche colors look great on white and that's what I wanted to do. I still may do it to my black GT3. It seems the Europeans are more open to doing some type of vinyl on their cars.
