Euro delivery / club sport goodies?
Has anyone here done euro delivery on a car, then added the clubsport rollbar in the car, then shipped the car back successfully?

I was specifically instructed during my ED that any modification would be removed by Porsche prior to shipping. I had changed to clear turn signal indicators, they swapped them out and put back in amber. Not sure where it happened in the loop but it happened. I highly doubt this would be successful.

I like where your heads at, but I thought that US cars did not have the mounting points for the club sport roll bar? I'd like to be wrong on this as obtaining a club sport rollbar and having it shipped to US should not be that difficult.

Unfortunately, you're not wrong. US spec cars don't have the mounting points so what the OP is hoping to do would not be possible.

I agree with this, as the OP is asking with regards to European Delivery. However, if one were to procure the OE half/full cage themselves, it would be fairly straight forward for a competent race shop to weld in the necessary brackets for this. You just need to pull up the carpets, scrape off the paint, fab the proper brackets and weld them in place. If one was REALLY **** retentive... you could even procure the correct carpets! I've seen it done.

If you euro delivery, I am not sure if Porsche even sells clubsport stuff over the counter at the factory let alone allow you to stuff it in the car before it is shipped overseas.... I dont think they even allow you to keep luggage in the car for shipment?
Another thing would be the clubsport plates on the floor. I doubt they exist on north american bound tubs...
I think the only route will be FVD or cargraphic and weld in the plates....

Good luck trying to import a car that doe not meet US specs or is not part of a US offering. No car company would risk this. Now - it is not impossible but you really need to be connected and know what you are doing - in other wards- you would have to have it modified over there ( 3rd party)and have it exported yourself but that would not be shrewed because you can have it modified here.

Trakcar, I'm with you (except for the Manthey part)....already looking @ track days. Problem is, this is for a Cayman GT4, so until I have some notion of delivery date, it's still a dream...
