I figure having both is actually a good option (cost notwithstanding).
Indeed, even the regular sports seats are somewhat of a PITA to get in and out of. Almost all sports seats show wear on the driver-side bolster after a couple years - the buckets must be a step worse.

I'm not fat either, but I have also split the seat of my pants on more than one occasion getting into and out of these seats.

The sport bucket seats are for me, the most comfortable Porsche offers. Once you get used to the technique for ingress and egress, it's simple and does not cause excessive wear on the bolster. However, they are not female-form friendly, so the wife or significant other (or both) may not like them.

The sport adaptive seats are the second most comfortable for me. And wife approved.

MJones: you just made my day for that. I think I heard him say "he has to kick the *** of his engineers,' right? I couldn't tell if he said that or lawyers. Hopefully the former as that's a more "solve-able" issue. Well done, good sir. Nice find. Fingers crosssed as my dealer is telling me Mar - May timing of my build.

If I get a track seat it will be something much less expensive and I'll still have the 18 way for the rest of the time.
My thoughts exactly, I ordered the adaptive seats...

Interesting that he blames the engineers. Apparently this wasn't a DOT issue. Grrr.

I took his comment as though the engineers are the current bottleneck to helping solve the US DOT-imposed issue. Ahh, zee Germans...

Agree with Ken, it could have been both.

BTW, for those who don't want to wade through the whole 1 hour plus show, the Porsche stuff starts at about the 29 minute mark.

CAlexio: the CEO of Porsche N.A. said the seats are coming, but he needs to kick the asses of his engineers to make it happen. Didn't commit to a time frame. Keep smiling...

For the sake of those hoping for buckets before their 1st or 2nd quarter orders are finalized I hope I'm wrong, but I'll be surprised if the new sport buckets are an option for the GT3 before the RS (which for sure will have them) is available.

They were doing that with the 997.2s also - nobody knows why - as a freebie, perhaps? But the world may never know.

Doesn't Recaro have a solution to this post arrival? Beside being 6'5" the Buckets just wouldn't offer the support and adjustment that I need. Anyone as tall have experience?
