To quote Miss South Carolina, "I personally believe"... Racing yellow works for a 981 cayman, but not a 991. It's too light a shade of yellow.

Color, totally subjective. I will admit, the fact that BROWN looks stunning on a GT3 is testament to just how beautiful a car it is...and damn if that brown doesn't look good.

Yellow looks the best. IMO. With standard wheels. Red brakes are fine with it too. The tail-lights are red.

There's that damn red again!

I went to look at a 991 in Saphire Blue the other day and it leads me to the opinion that blue may be it. The question is which one. Is the PTS Mexico awesome or what?

I would have chosen MB over white but who knows when PTS will open up and the allocation timing. Could not risk my slot. It sucks that you can't order GT3 with the PTS colors that Porsche already approved.

PTS window opens in April 2014 and you can only get the current PTS colours already approved for the 991...

My original affliction with guards red.. Took a 1961 version to high school prom

Still has a weird orange tint which leaves me a little non-plussed in certain lighting environments.

CAlexio: Your original affliction to 'Guards Red' may have a long history, but I doubt it started with a 1961 356 Cabriolet of that color! Unless someone repainted that 1961 356 B in a period-incorrect 'Guards Red' (that came much later), which basically greatly decreased the value of that oldtimer. The only true 'red' color from that era that is close to what is shown on your photo is 'Signal Red', which was a 'special order' paint for all 356 B's and quite rare to see this early on Porsches of the period. 'Signal Red' became a standard color in the 356 C models for MY1964 & 1965. That is the era when you really see 'Signal Red' 356's in greater numbers.

I have own several 'Signal Red' 356s and many 'Guards Red' 944's & 911's. They are not the same color. But carry on...you basically love 'Guards Red' and I agree with you it's a great color!

Eduardo

While I have no real track experience in cars except for Porsche driving academy.. I drove a 1964 356c to school every day in michigan.. It was a constant slow-mo near disaster LOL.. between deer and ice there were plenty of spins and close calls.. The car in the prom pic is a 1961 356b roadster.. We sold both of them in early 2000's.. Still want to shoot myself over lettingb my dad do that My brother caught the bug.. Here we are with his Beck 550 Spyder

Respectfully, the 356 in your photo is a Cabriolet, not a Roadster. But carry on - all 356's are great and you are lucky to have had such wonderful cars to drive in high school. I am envious. I walked to high school and had access only to public transportation in college. I got my first drivers license when I was 22 years old, after I got my first job out of university. Count your blessings.

Eduardo
