GT3 Allocation and RS Pricing Question

Does the 864 GT3s for the U.S. include 918 buyers GT3s, or is that in addition to
those cars for 918 buyers? Will the same model 991 GT3 (MK1) be offered after 2014 as 2015 GT3s? Will the factory manufacture GT3s and GT3RS concurrently?
Any idea when the GT2 (GT2RS?) will be introduced?

No idea as yet about a 2015 GT3 but I was informed that all GT3's would be 2014 models and the RS should be be a 15 model. I am hoping there will be a 2015 model GT3 as our order book is very full. GT2 will be late next year and will be the 560 Turbo S motor according to my latest info. Nothing yet about a GT2 RS version.

Q3 builds are never MY15 until after 01 Sept. MY change over is end August German Summer holidays. Traditionally this month the factories closed down for retooling. These days its a bit different.
At this stage my PAG contact says production schedule is only MY14, however with recent delays I suspect this will change.

Okay, I guess we'll see. My dealer is adamant my Q3 will be a MY2015. My contract reads as such also; not that that is a guarantee. I have had a subsequent MY 911 which was built pre-Sept. So, I know it has been done. A good friend's (USA) RS was built Q3 pre-Sept 2010 and is a MY2011.

Regardless of what model year you think you have been sold the VIN number on the chassis changes from August each year so if you type your June build 2010 Turbo S VIN into Porsches PET system it indicates its a 2010 build and that's how the factory (and the rest of the world) see it. In America they have for long time sold cars that are older than the MY they promote them as (993 was classic - USA received first cars almost 1 years after ROW so got MY 94 VIN cars but called them MY 95)....try it for yourself - throw your VIN number into PET 7.3 and see what you get...

Frankly, I don't care when my car is built. If it is titled as a MY2015, then it is a 2015. Future residuals will reflect the title year not when the car was built.
That said, GT3s built in Q4, 2013 as MY 2014s are really 2013s? Not so much. It is arbitrary what the factory wishes to call them. What matters is the aforementioned titled year. At least in the states it does.

For the ROW we only talk about the factory model year as designated by the VIN. This defines when changes were made to the Vehicle (i.e. facelift, gen 2 etc).
Globally VIN number change is recognised as MY change by Porsche. In USA its obviously different...

Correct. Always 10th Digit since at least 1989. Same as USA. This is not just ROW protocol this is Porsche Protocol and VIN standards protocol. The USA marketing department may tell you you have a 1995 Porsche 993 but actually you would have a car built in 1994 before the August change over. Actually its a MY1994 car but in USA marketing speak it was touted as a MY95 car. My 993 was built October 1993 and is called MY94. As there are no running changes during GT3 production life essentially all GT3 are known by generation number even if they may be technically produced over two MY. From a resale perspective in your market perhaps saying MY15 wil help over MY14 but generally its accepted at lest after a few years in most places around the world that a Mark 1 991 GT3 is just that regardless of when it was registered and mileage, options and precedence will take front of mind to a used car buyer....

Listen, my dad just got a MY 2014 Panamera with the updated design, bumpers etc. It was produced in early July of 2013, before the factory vacation. In fact, the 2014 launch car at the dealer was produced in June. Porsche has moved the model year change over up, and it is often no longer the September builds that begin the new MY.
