Default New "Full Contact" LWB Seat Angle Brackets

If you have factory LWB(Light Weight Bucket) seats and want more recline angle to improve driving comfort and for helmet clearance, then we have a new option for you. TPC Racing is now offering our new Full Contact Seat Angle Brackets. Our design reclines the seat angle by 3 degrees using CNC-machined brackets that make full contact to the mating surfaces. This makes for a more comfortable seating position for most drivers and very sturdy seat mounting with no changes to the seat rail hinges. The brackets are CNC-machined from 7075 Aircraft-grade aluminum(7075 is stronger than the more common 6061), each set includes 12.9-grade sockhead fasteners.

LWB seat fitment:
991.1 GT3/RS
991.2 GT3/RS/GT2RS
981 GT4/Spyder
918 Spyder

Price Was: $175per set (each set is for one seat). Now $150 per set!

Interesting option. So there are three parts to the seat: sliders/rails, frame brackets, and the carbon tub? Other options on the market pivot the seat about the rear bar by raising the front arm mounting location between the rails and frame. Whereas this solution keeps the rail and frame mounted in the stock locations, and instead pivots the actual carbon tub in the frame brackets?

Very interesting.

About how long does it take to mount this application?

How does the seating position/angle compare to TrackSpec and Autoquest brackets?

I'm a little confused what the difference is between the TOC mod and the others that tilt the lwb seat back. Varying price differences too..Track Spec seems most popular and is $70 less to do the lwb seats

The image below is from the factory parts catalog. It shows the sliders/rails and side plates as one unit.

The TPC brackets conforms perfectly between the carbon tub and the side plates. The recline angle is achieved by raising the the carbon tub at the front bolt hole. The relation between the slider/rails and side plates is unchanged.

Yes. We are saying the same thing. Your product raises the carbon tub relative to the side plate. The other options on the market raise the side plate (and therefor the carbon tub) relative to the slider/rails. Seem like in the end, the result is the same? Unless... with your product do you get rubbing in the rear when the seat is fully down and you try to move the seat fore/aft?

It takes about an hour per seat when handling the carbon seats in a meticulous manner. This includes removing the seat and loosening the factory cable looms underneath(as shown in the video in post #1). I suppose if someone wants to save time the cable looms can be pulled and stretched...we don't recommend doing that. We assume that GT car owners would want take the time to do the job best way possible.

I am not sure how it compares to other brands. We made our brackets to increase recline by exactly 3.0 degrees from the factory position. The height of the bracket from center-to-center is 26mm, if that helps.

TrackSpec claim their brackets raise the seat 1", which is 25.4mm so I'd call it a push.

AutoQuest claim to raise the seat 1.5", although it's a little unclear whether that's at the mounting point or leading edge of the seat.

It achieves the same functionality results, which is to recline the seat angle more to give the seat occupant a more relaxed seating position and for helmet clearance. Its just a different method of achieving the same functionality.
We're not going to say one method is better than another... This is the method that we prefer and we hope that some drivers will feel the same so we put this design to production.
We actually didn't come up with this method originally. Our boss took European Delivery of a GT car and spent 10 days at the 'Ring and Spa. He noticed most of the GT cars there using this method and he prefers it. So he designed his version and now we have a new option.
The design does cost to make due to extra material needed, extra machining operations, and more costly alloy material...all that is true but bla bla bla...we're just capitalist.

Yep. Pretty much the same functionality as per my previous post. No rubbing fore and aft.

The labor at our shop is 1.5 hour per seat, at $135/hour ($202.50). Price on the brackets is reduced to $150 per seat!
