991.1 RS Steel Brake Squeak
I’ve had my RS about a month now and I’m well aware that PCCB’s tend to squeak at low speeds but my RS has the steel brakes and it squeaks horrendously when I apply just enough brake to bring the car to a stop from a 5-10mph roll. Is this normal for the steel brakes to squeak very loudly or should I have my dealer take a look?

Is that a way to remove the squeak permanently, or just a trick to avoid hitting that threshold in the pedal? If the latter, that is not really a solution in bumper to bumper traffic.

Re-bed the brakes whenever and as often as you can. Normal street driving will scrap the pad material off the rotor and cause the squealing (or make it worse). Re-bedding often will help. But, expect some squealing no matter what.....because....racecar

Update: I took the advice of others here and thoroughly rinsed my PCCBs and they really quieted down. I don’t know why Porsche is not suggesting this, instead of saying squeaking is normal ( if that were true, they would all squeak). I cancelled my service appointment to swap out the pads.
Note, that I used a high pressure hose (though didn’t get too close). YMMV

These are performance brakes...you are braking very lightly on the street and they get glazed up. Go find an empty road get up to speed and threshold brake down to about 20 mph a few times like 5-8 times. this will transfer pad material to the rotor and stop he squeak for a while but it will return.

My GT3RS .1 squeaked all the time. Oh well.

My .2 squeals as well.
Will even make make faint pulsating squeaking noise when slight turn left ( pads brush rotor.)

My .2 with red brakes squeal like crazy. I've heard other post that the non-PCCBs are actually louder.
It is pretty normal. You can brake hard for a bit and it'll go away for a while, but it'll come back if you do a lot of day to day/normal/street driving.
Brakes which are large will make more noise than brakes which are small. It is the whole trade-off between performance and "liveability" (is that a word?). You want amazing brakes? Be prepared for a lot of brake dust and noise. You want amazing performance? Your car is going to be loud, pretty rough, and use a lot of gas.
