Can anyone with a non-FAL .2 GT3RS or .2 GT3 check how much lowering is available on the front shocks?

My .2 GT3 RS only allowed 8mm drop on the front struts, my car has FAL. Looking at the b b i pictures above, there is also an 8mm maximum possible drop on that car (from lower spring perches to contact with the FAL device). I lowered my .2 GT3 RS but it is sitting 20mm higher than my old .1 GT3RS measured from the same chassis points.

Thanks,

To tighten up the handling, we will be installing our BBi Street Cup Spring Package and Tarett Engineering Competition Suspension Components Sway Bar End Links. These upgraded linear rate springs from Swift Springs USA Inc. were chosen specifically to reduce body roll, gain response and balance out the vehicle.

Springs installed on front shock

Springs installed on rear shock

Tarrett Front and Rear Adjustable Sway Bar End Links

• Simple bolt in replacement for the factory drop links
• Left & right hand threaded rod ends allow for simple length adjustment to eliminate swaybar preload
• Correctly sized, precision, Teflon-lined rod-ends for smooth and quiet operation, long life, and high reliability. No wear and rattling problems, like those seen with other designs, due to undersized or low quality rod ends
• Eliminates the factory compliant plastic drop link bushings that deflect under loading and quickly wear out
• High misalignment, stainless steel spacers allow for superior bind free operation and corrosion resistance
• Precisely connects the stock or adjustable swaybar to the front strut assembly for improved feedback and swaybar response
• Overall length is adjustable to accommodate either stock or adjustable swaybar requirements

991 GT3 RS Springs Upgrade Kit

Complete Package Includes:
  • 2 Coilover Spring (Front)
  • 2 Coilover Spring (Rear)
  • 2 Coilover Helper Spring (Front)
  • 2 Coilover Helper Spring (Rear)
  • 2 Upper Spring Rest (Rear)
  • 2 Lower Spring Rest (Rear)

Next, we installed our BBi Street Cup harness bar to provide additional protection and mounting locations for the Schroth Racing 6 point racing harnesses. The bar features a 2 piece design and high strength seamless tubing (1.75” x 0.095, 1.5” x 0.083) for excellent strength to weight ratio. With our sensible design approach, the 2 piece design mounts to frame structure, utilizing factory bolts, to provide strongest mounting points and maximum protection. For superior strength and rigidity, the bar utilizes “X” braces on both front and rear sections and each joint has been meticulously TIG welded by hand. Bolt-in installation is accomplished by using Inner Diameter Tube Clamps that are CNC turned and milled for a precise fit. These unique joints allow us to eliminate the more traditional slip fit tubes with an unsightly through-bolt and nut.

Features
  • 1.75” x 0.095”, 1.5” x 0.083” high strength seamless tubing (DOM) utilized for excellent strength to weight ratio
  • TIG welded and utilizes “X” braces on front and rear sections for superior strength and rigidity
  • Mounts to frame structure (utilizing factory bolts) to provide strongest mounting points and maximum protection
  • Utilizes laser cut mounting plates & inner diameter tube clamps that are CNC turned and milled for a precise fit
  • Designed to work with stock seats or any aftermarket seats on the market
  • Allows full seat travel to accommodate taller drivers
  • Can be used with stock seat belts or 6 point harnesses for track use
  • Designed to work with wrap-around style harnesses while optional eyelet bolt provisions are available for clip-in harnesses
  • OEM fit & finish. The main hoop contours entire arch of the roof with an even 3/16 inch gap
  • Finished in satin black powder coat. Other colors available Bolt-in installation requires no drilling and minimal carpet trimming
  • Made in USA

To uncork the already impressive engine (and reduced weight), we installed BBi 3D printed inconel long tube headers with side muffler deletes@!!! To top it all off we loaded a BBi ECU calibration to take advantage of the flow and get a bit more power out of higher octane fuel.

BBS Magnesium WEC Manthey Racing Wheels. Tipping the scales at 15.9 lbs & 21.9 lb, these 20x9.5 & 21x12.5 wheels are lighter than aluminum, and magnesium has the highest vibration dampening rate of any of the structural metals, including aluminum or titanium to help absorb road shock. Stay tuned see these wrapped with Michelin's new Cup 2 R tires and installed on Aro's Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS project!!!

Could you kindly get a shot of the clearance between the lower edge of the front caliper and the BBS Mg wheel barrel? Is there anymore clearance vs the standard wheels? Thanks.

Great question! The key benefit of a linear rate spring is that it is easy to understand and set up because there is only one variable to control with the spring rate is consistent. This makes is easier to calculate and predict out how the spring will behave under various conditions. On a road race course, you want to know exactly what the suspension is doing, when it’s doing it and where it’s doing it on the track. The only way to do this is when the spring behaves the same way under different conditions around the track to create a consistent handling pattern for the car.

What's not linear about the OEM springs??
