Why did porsche not do pts on the gt3 rs? Not that i would have ordered it...

also I am dd this car, so Bose and auto dim I wanted. Shocked to see how many people here have the ultra low specced silver wheels and dont get how so little specced it.

Led i just am confused about, 2900 to make ur headlights black? 85% specced and you lose some iconic 911 look imo with the double stacked lenses. I guess with all the black wheels it makes some sense...

Probably the same reason they didn't offer the Mag wheels for the folks who got WP....lack of capacity is my guess.

PAG began building 3RS in July 2018. They didn’t build many in August. Through December there are 1,229 3RS built for N.A., GT production is expected through April 2019.

I expect total NA 991.2 GT production will be about ~7k.
991.1 GT was 4k.

GT3 - 3,350
3RS - 1,675
2RS - 1,275
Speedster - 700

Seems like you see more GT2 RS than .2 GT3 RS. Wonder if Porsche makes more money on 2RS?

Porsche is now buildng more 3s and less 2s. Very few 2s over the next several months and many 3s. Seems likely that 2 production will end in March of 2019

I think they are trying to end production of the 2's yesterday, they seem un-sellable. Every dealer has one, none seem to move. They would build 5k more if they thought they could sell them, but they have already built like 5x the amount than they EVER have on gt2. They definitely make a lot more money on a gt2rs than a gt3rs, they charge over 100k more and probably cost about the same to produce.

Agree. 2RS uses off the shelf 3.8 TT. Granted they use upgraded components but no where near the development time and $ spent on the 4.0. Their profit margin on the 2RS is likely gargantuan. Piles of them sitting at dealers with $100k to $150k ADMs . My dealer has 4 he is sitting on looking for $125k over.

Dot2: great data! 👍Thanks. My bet is production ends 1st Q. Likely total around 1500 to 1600. Agree.

Pretty low production WW even at 1600.

Not sure why you would say they unsellable. That is not true. I am aware of many dealers delivering cars throughout the last 30 days and was even outbid on a few by other buyers. I am also aware of many cars over the years that sat on showroom floors for a while until inventory was low and then seemingly overnight they were all gone. Many here make comments that imply this car is a loser. I am not sure how under any standard other than it does not sound like an NA car, too many people can have one, it does not look like it is ready to travel in space, or that in certain speed ranges other cars are faster, that could be true. The performance numbers are literally off the chart on a car that can be driven every day and on the track. I also remember the GT2s and 3s of previous gens released that sat unsellable at dealers, as well as the last unsellable Speedster that is now over sticker. That stinker sat around forever.

It is a heavily modifed engine. See the PCA video. Even if it was not, the engine is epic. Every 911 Turbo has geen epic and I have owned 3 generations that I frequently used as a dd. The car does way under 3 secs to 60, is scary fast otherwise, can do unlmited violent launch controls, and be pounded on without recourse all day long. What are your expectations?

According to my source, NO PTS indefinitely on GT3 RS and NO RS allocation after May 2019

4 GT2RSs are sitting at your local dealer alone? And yet people aren't believing me when I say that there are dozens and dozens of dealer spec'ed 2RSs sitting collecting dust on their lots. haha

Please do the dealer a favor and let us know where these 4 cars are languishing. Maybe they are the one to buy from with a great price. PS. I do not think that any dealer within 50 miles of the USC campus has 4 cars presently on their lots that are unsold and that includes a lot of major dealers. If they do, it would be an aberration.

I believe you probably need to add another 0 to your estimate collecting dust.

As for miami guy, yeah it is super fast no one will argue that. So fast in fact, it will be doing under sticker in 2.3 months

Markets fluctuate and there were a lot of 2 cars produced in the last quarter that are now reachng dealers. Presently, the 2s are sellng for a much higher premium than the 3s. The 3 production will now ramp up and the 2 will ramp down. Let’s see what haooens. Btw, we like, I saw your car bf the delivery. Very nice. Enjoy in health.
