if you can drive manual well, you will also love pdk
if you cannot drive manual well, you think PDK robs your of your INVOLVEMENT.
here is how PDK can be involving. if you down shift from 5th the 2nd to make a turn, go deeper another 200' then down shift. if that's not involving , wait 300' then downshift and turn. in PDK, you s**t on your seat. in manual you s**t in ER. I think both are involving as I have sh*tted both places.

Drive your era. Old cars - old technology and the same with new cars - new technology. The latest and greatest are developed with pdk in mind. It suits the soul and character of the car. I grew up with manual cars, and would never considered a “auto” until the dct boxes started to arrive. But I also grew up with vinyl records, “mobile” phones that needed someone to carry it for you and I don’t miss those either. Not very nostalgic I guess.
I hsd had a manual GT4 and that was probably my last manual new car. Next time I own a manual Porsche it will be air cooled.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that I grew up driving stick... so I don't really miss it. But I do love PDK... super quick response and enables full level of performance on the GT3. I also believe it to be safer on such a powerful car... hands are always on the wheel and the equipment is "idiot" proof... I understand the apparent appeal of the manual for a "drivers/purist" experience... However, I don't buy it totally... I am one that believes we should evolve and adapt and the PDK is one of the best pieces of engineering that there is. With that said I am with the minority on this one and that is ok.

On the street, PDK is boring. On the track, PDK is fantastic.
I drive more on the street than the track, so a Touring with MT is perfect...for me.
Henry Catchpole’s preferences (a street driver):
1. GT3 with MT
2. GT2 RS
3. GT3 RS (sad trombone here...haha)

I may be an anomaly that I enjoy the manual on the track as well... no question PDK is easier to drive on track, but the same fun with manual on the street translates to track for me as well. That's not to say that I don't enjoy the PDK on track...

The replies on this thread are really humerus .
Me personally, I have driven both and I prefer the manual. Even in the heat of of the moment of spirited driving track and twisty roads, so much more enjoyment rowing my own gears. But that's just me.

Couldn’t have said it any better. Had a 991.1 gt3 and loved it on track but not at all on street. Have a manual 991.2 gt3 and love it on the street. Manual is fun on track but i’m not an expert so can’t extract as much from the car as I can with pdk. Upshifting and dowshifting on long straights in a pdk gt3 is epic, but so is spirited back road street driving with (self) rev matching and heel toe’ing in a manual. I have no regrets but one day when I have the means and the time, I will probably add a pdk gt3 back into the mix. Don’t think I will let go of the manual or a manual replacement, though.

No regrets whatsoever. I want the full experience from my expensive modern high performance and high tech sportscar. Mixing manual into that equation creates an oxymoron imo.
