Default 991.2 GT3 Ride Harsher than 991.1 GT3

Am I the only one who thinks the 991.2 GT3 has a harsher ride than the 991.1? To me the car feels stiffer, and it's slightly more punishing on the bumps.

Were there any changes in the suspension geometry for the 2018 GT3 that might cause it to have a firmer ride than a 2015 GT3?

Curious on others' thoughts.

op you are correct

spring rates were increased in the .2 version... car is definitely firmer

very obvious when .1 and .2 driven back to back

Pretty hard to differentiate.........the speed and type of road has to be the exact same to really judge......but if it was firmer up, it was firmer up

Thank you for confirming I'm not losing my sanity. Anyone know the spring specs for both cars? And I wonder if retrofitting .1 springs on .2 would create any issues?

I find my .2 more compliant on the road - even with the stiffer springer rates. Cant explain it, just my feeling

After delivering our GT3-1 to the dealer and picking up our GT3-2, my wife commented on the stiffer ride of the GT3-2 within a few minutes
of driving. It certainly felt stiffer to me also. At our Smokies event, we spoke with a PAG representative asking if the Spring rates were changed
between the 2 models. After checking with the factory, PAG confirmed their was no difference in spring rates between the two models.
I concluded that either after 25,000 miles, the -1 was "broken in" and felt softer and/or the shock rates had been changed.
After 3,000 Miles, it still feels significantly stiffer to both of us - but not uncomfortably so. Fear Not!!! Your Sanity is intact.

Are you sure? Do you have the spring rate figures for both cars? I saw them posted here once earlier and the numbers were identical. I know they added helper springs, but never heard the main springs are stiffer.

The .2 is more compliant on the road. Even the wife noticed how much better the ride is. We drove the .1 back from FL and the .2 from GA. The .2 is a much better highway car. Expansion joints in the .1 were hammering. Maybe the pasm controller has better programming in the .2.

I find the .2 way smoother and compliant than the .1

same roads.....but way better ride quality, not as harsh.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...ing-rates.html

further adding to the confusion -- the only data that has been presented on RL says spring rates are actually same and maybe there is only pasm box software differences, which of course can substantially change the response of the car ... with my two .1's and newly arrived .2 there is no doubt the .2 is stiffer stock to stock... one of my .1 is 100% stock, the other has a dsc box as it is a track rat... all are on cup 2's (yes i know the tires were updated too ...n0 vs n1 vs n2)

see aleks doba comment late in the thread... i don't believe the springs/rates are the same

Looking at the PET, the front/rear springs of the .1 and .2 are the same part numbers. Front shocks are the same part numbers, but rear shocks have different part numbers. The control module has different part numbers/
