Default Squeak...squeaksqueaksqueak...

Good morning all,

I'm getting what appears to be rotational squeak from the car, which sounds an awful lot like racing pad squeal. Really only discernable at low speeds, and initially only happened when turning, but is progressively getting worse. Tapping the brake pedal does not really get rid of it...but it's hard to nail down. It seems like it is worse when I have 19"s on as opposed to the OEMs.

Wondering if the calipers are not fully releasing/returning to neutral, if something with the rear wheel steering, or something with the hubs/centerlocks.

Anyone...thoughts?

Might want to jack up each wheel and turn it to see if you can reproduce the squeak. Could be a bent rotor heat shield, bad bearing, or a rock stuck. You would also notice if a pad was dragging.

I have same exact issue on my .2GT3....sounds like coming from the back and sounds exactly like a brake squeal but obviously not since I'm not on the brakes.

I'm thinking pad dragging but will be going in dealer soon when I do first oil change

I posted issue here to which sounds like 997GT cars had similar issue

Well, I just switched out the wheels, and I did nit see anything out if whack.

I got a parking brake fault a couple of weeks ago, but it reset. For grins, I activated it, and voila! Much diminished. I then promptly got the same fault message.

Back to the dealership I go!
