PEC - tipping?

I did. My instructor was nice and I learned a few things.

Why does everybody think they have to tip everywhere they go to enjoy a paid service? Is this what millennials expect nowadays?

My wife and I went to PEC a few months ago. We both took separate cars with separate instructors.
After our drives we had planned to tip our respective instructors. My wife and I were standing next to each other and my wife tipped her driver. He took the tip and said “thanks”. When I went to tip my driver simultaneously, my instructor declined and said “We are not allowed to accept tips”. It was a little weird since it was clear both instructors were standing right next to each other and it was obvious what each said.

My Sales Manager asked me if we can put an incentive in place to sell more of a specific product. i said we pay or sales people salaries and they also get commission on everything they sell. Now you want to give them more. I just want people do their freakin job

Tips are appreciated but not expected.
The coaches at the PEC are very professional and very underpaid. I don't know how the full time coaches live on their wage, especially in Southern California.
Most coaches accept the low wage for the love of instructing and the brand.
Most likely your experience was with a part time coach and a full time coach. Part time coaches usually have another career and coach when available for the love, and might not want to be tipped.
As cool as the job is, the work is very difficult and the hours are long. Value to the client is high; professional instruction, a new porsche to drive, tires, gas, facility etc....
Coaches have to maintain a very enthusiastic attitude and ensure the safety of the client all day long, usually 4 sessions a day and no control of the type of driver they get assigned.
Tip if you feel you received exceptional service. If the coaches don't make enough income, they might not be able to continue the job they love and work so hard at delivering the highest quality experience.

It's a gut call. If you feel your instructor went above and beyond to help you out, tip him/her....why not.. A tip is a compliment in a lot of ways, and everyone loves compliments. karma
