SCCA love those wheels on the white. Can you remember the price to powder coat locally?

Your wheels look great, but it's important for people to realize that powdercoat, no matter how much clearcoat you apply, will have that sand or flat color like yours do. If you're trying to replicate the shine and shadows of the GT2 wheels you simply have to paint.

I'm actually looking to refinish the stock GT3 wheels. Is the dealership actually willing to refinish them? Guess I'll have to give them a call tomorrow

No, The GT3 RS mag wheels will be in Platinum finish. White Gold finish is for GT2 RS only.

Just spoke to my local Porsche dealer, said they can refinish to any finish for 500 a wheel which seems a bit steep. Can get it done for less than half that elsewhere

Hi All, very interesting thread!

We just finished working on this jet black beast - full invisible wrap in Xpel Ultimate PPF + coatings on every surface. Wheels were painted satin white gold by Porsche Reading, despite our recommendations to paint them gloss Once the car arrived it was clear they would look so much better in gloss

Interesting info here regarding spraying them and powder coating... It makes perfect sense now, because these powder coated in gloss still look satin, so good old paint it is!

Also, another thing with this finish on wheels is that they look very good in pictures - the reflections are very diffused, so you can see the shape and all the spokes very well, with gloss you loose some of that, however, in real life they just look dull in my opinion, can't beat gloss!

That's probably why this is the official finish for the wheels - so they look best in pictures

That wheel color would look good on Carmine Red.

You'll get the result you're looking for
The SHop I am dealing with is dead-set against painting vs powder coating. The durability of painting is in question
