None of the .1 RS's on Cars.com or cargugus.com or other websites come anywhere close to this one as far as near MSRP ask price. I have a feeling there are some among us who are waiting for the .2 GT3 that own a .1 RS close to this cars spec and this may be a pricing tool to try and get one of us to trade in our .1RS at below MSRP showing this as an example of where the pricing is. I was looking at a 458 at boardwalk and they were wanting me to trade in the .1 RS for the 458 and they quoted this car at PPP as a reason to devalue my RS saying they would give $180K for it. Of course I did not fall for it and I am not going to trade in my .1 RS when I get my .2GT3 in March either. Just saying.... There could be other motives behind this aggressive pricing. Who knows. However, it is a great deal for anyone who wants a .1RS. Perhaps a better price than some overspecced PDK .2 GT3's that are close to or above $200K.
Didn't fall for what exactly? The idea that a 2 year old used vehicle produced in much greater numbers than any version before it and with another improved version on the horizon might not be worth significantly more than the original MSRP price?

I just picked up a 2038XX MSRP 489 mile GT silver RS for 200 bucks over sticker (so the owner could say he sold it for over sticker haha). So the market is definitely calming on them. However I don't think they're ever going to really go below 10k under MSRP private sale or 15k under dealer trade. RS market is ALWAYS good for that value retention regardless of market trends. Especially one that more people can drive (PDK vs manual).

Yes, many people do/did think they would continue at a premium. It's called the "rs is an rs" principle.

Over 70 GT4 on cars.com alone
Whatever cars.com shows, I would double that # for sale market wide. Not like they all advertise there.

Definitely tempting at this Range! Was at the dealer recently and they have a GORGEOUS specced white one with martini livery and low miles for 5K over sticker. That’s the initial asking. Lot of car for the money!

Value of the RS
Amen to that! Many amongst us have paid premiums (above list price) for the 997 .2 RS just recently (in the last 6 months) simply because we love the Metzger engine and the MT and this continues even though the .2 MT GT3 is here. I believe the joy of driving the .1 RS may be robbed by the thought of decreasing prices. Who knows, in another 10 years the new generation of Porschephiles that only know PDK/turbo/battery power might give a premium for the .1 RS. All of this though is speculative in nature and wether one paid ADM for the .1 RS or not, one still has control on wether to let it go or to continue enjoying what it offers. Each one of us who has or had a .1 RS will have to determine its personal value. I am however, looking forward to my .2 MT PTS GT3.

Guys, these are modern day cars. Deprecating assets. Some justifying the cash layout under other pretenses are in for a big surprise. Next gen 992 is not far off. See what happens then, or when more .2's hit the road including RS.
The second hand market does NOT behave like the firsthand "gotta have the newest built to spec one" buyer.
