Anybody buy or sell a 911R recently?

I have no idea why but *to me* the GT3T does nothing for me, whereas the R just looks the part/visually stunning. Again no idea why, maybe just drinking Porsche's marketing Kool-aid, but I would take the R over the GT3T if I had the luxury of choosing.

An "R" is an "R." Just as the mantra of PORSCHE, "There is no substitute."
Buying and owning a car is a combination of want, need, art and science. The engineering put together (sum of parts, calibrated steering, lessened insulation, etc.,), the artistic combination of carbon fiber, magnesium roof, beauty of single mass flywheel, houndstooth fabric, tarpan brown leather, among many other things, to me is a perfect recipe. It is not the most expensive, cheapest, fastest, slowest car I have, but consider it the best so far I currently own. It lives up to the expectation and heritage of being a classic.
It touches the analog senses that gives me the right sensation for both fun and engagement. In summary I do not know any owner who doesn't like it at all. I think that says a lot by itself.

I have now driven both 911R and GT3 Touring. My impressions:
911R is noisier, raw, the steering is lighter and feels like it gives more feedback. The rattles from SMFW are great and in general there is more mechanical noises. The car feels more nimble on the road.
GT3T less mechanical noises, feels more insulated. Engine sounds different. Strong, but less furious than R. Again possible just an audio sensory impression. Car feels more planted, but less playful.
I cannot attest to the suspension settings since 911R has buckets and GT3T has 18 way seats.
Also don't want to get into the exhaust note as the R had full Akrapovic exhaust, which is by the way phenomenal.
Overall GT3T is a great daily drive, but there is no sense of special occasion in it compare to R.

I would much rather have an R that a GT3T and agree with everything you said, which echos sentiments of other owners posted on here, however, I did find Chris Harris' comments on the GT3.2 motor very interesting in his video. His opinion was that the motor in the new GT3 was much stronger and livelier than the one in the R.

Agreed, for my honestly I find the old motor to be more lively. I frankly find it to have a lot more top end power in the R, and believe it to be similar if not equal mid range. For me the R feels far more nimble and sporty on backroads. I did a recent canyon run with some of the guys on here, and I was blown away by what I perceived as a lack of top end strength in the new motor.
Again, everyone has their opinions, but to me its not a noticeable improvement to justify one over the other.

These 'reviewers' only get a car for day or 2, think they will know much about a car?
Plus, if they didn't say the right thing, they just don't get invited back again for the next one.
From an owner's pov, the 911R and the GT3, no matter how 'alike' they are, they drive very differently. I wouldn't go as far as saying one is better than the other, both have their uniqueness, but I can safely say neither are as good a driver as my 94 Turbo 3.6
