I'm just jealous of your garage and lift....
LOL!
Fun stuff. I went PDK on my car with no regret. Again, very pleased that Porsche allowed GT3 owners the option to choose how they wish to connect with their cars. Win for Porsche on that front.

Thank you for sharing your experience Ortho. I went from a 991 GT3 to a 991 GT3RS (both of course PDK), then to a manual .2 GT3. I entirely second your experience. For me the manual .2 GT3 is more engaging, and offers a "fuller" experience than either of my previous GT cars. This it does at any speed! Yes it may not have the aesthetic presence of an RS nor will it outperform a .2 GT3 with a PDK tranny on a track, but it will absolutely make you feel like a "driver" and not a video game player. Harsh analogy I know.
IMO, the current PDK iteration of the GT3 is an exercise in evolution from its predecessor but in its manual form its an entirely different car than any of the PDK versions!

LOL. Thanks, man. You can't go wrong with either tranny.

I agree that it's at least as good as my GT4's manual (and probably a bit better) - maybe because the shift cables are shorter (GT4 has to reach to the far rear of the car) or maybe it's just the different gearbox.

Great to hear the manual provides that connection. Really makes me hope they expand production and I can get one. I'm so not used to the idea of having to get on a list for 20 months to buy a car.
Enjoy it, and keep the updates coming!!

If the new GT3 manual turns out to be a big hit, what will happen to valuations of 997 GT3?

orthojoe: This is very strange. I am sort of on the came path Porsche-wise you took. My 991.1 Gt3 is gone, followed by a GT4. My 991.2 GT3 manual should land in Benecia next week. I hope I have the same feelings about the comparison of the three!

Nice confirmation of what many have been saying for a long time. Manual = more engagement whilst driving. I am really curious as to where Porsche is going to take the GT3 in future generations. Will it focus more on driving engagement and leave track prowess to the RS's? Will the Touring become the 'normal' form factor for future GT3s?

x2 my friend. Also went PDK, but very happy for the manual owners to have this option. Same as Touring vs non-Touring. Wouldn't have the GT3 without the wing, but happy for those who preferred the Touring pack.

Couldn't agree more! Sold my 2016 GT3 PDK because it just wasn't fun on the weekends when I wasn't at the track. AT the track that car was mindbendingly great, just not as a weekend car. Just got my .2 manual last week and I only have about 50 miles on it BUT its amazing. The motor, the sound, the shifter feel - they nailed it all. Veryhopeful I like it as much on the track ( I only do 4-5 days a year anymore). Amazing car.

Hahaha, funny stuff. I always said that once the honeymoon period passed, people would be bored with the PDK. Truth is that you'll always prefer what you don't have. Something about grass always being greener because it's fertilized with bull$hit. Anyways, if you want to have fun on the street, you're buying the wrong car. Get the Boxster Spyder and never look back.

If it's OrthoJoe approved then I know I'll love it as well. If the GT3 was PDK only then I was have passed on it, one of the main reasons why I bought it was because of the manual transmission. Can't wait till late Feb to get mine.
