What are the advantages/disadvantages between the two types of rear attachment points for roll bar?
OEM Clubsport, GMG bars attach to shock tower,
BBI, Cantrel, etc bars attach to lower parcel shelf.

I also have a BBi cage in my 991.1 GT3, GT3RS, and 991.2 GT3. I keep going back to BBi because of their customer service and quality of their product. I highly recommend their cage.

Technically speaking does it really matter if the shoulder belt attachment bar is in the front or back of the cage?

I read that Cantrell recommends the belts attachment directly behind the seat however we see that the Porsche Cup installs on the rear cross bar.

Is there really a shoulder belt stretch concern or is this just one bar manufacturer product positioning marketing?

thanks

Pretty sure I was the first one with the BBI bar with the X re-enforcement.
I don't have the eyes on the rear to mount the harness, not sure what the advantage is of those.

The bar went in easily and has been fine so far.

I couldn't find one and I tried really hard.
E-mailed Manthey and they couldn't get one either.

I vehemently complained about it to AP when I met him, he seemed to agree saying that Dodge Demon gets away with "off road parts in a box".
I followed up with an email later, no idea if anything will come of it.

The only thing I found when the belts are mounted further back is that Schroth recommends crossing them over before going through the seat.

"The shoulder belts will cross over when anchor points are located more than 450 mm (18”) behind the seat back rest. We recommend a distance of 8” or less from the back of the HANS to the harnessbar when possible."

IMO the advantage of the eye boots would be you could unclip the shoulder harnesses when driving on the road (so they aren’t dangling and clanking around behind the seat).
