Back OT, I'm a little behind on publishing my Speedster review as I've been busy and a few days doesn't make much difference for my publication anyway. I didn't expect to love the car as much as a "proper" GT3 but I actually did. If they made this as "regular" production there would be a lot less point in the GT3 Touring instead of the Speedster, if the latter wasn't still twice the price of course. Very similar dynamics but the open roof adds a lot of enjoyment.
Made some nice POV vids of the car howling on Sardinia's lovely roads but I'm hesitant to put them out there given that the speed limits were interpreted....liberally. Journalists gonna journalist...

I put this in another thread but I though I'd leave it here as well:

Yeah....I spoke to a dealer a few days back & they had 4 open allocations. The sales guy there was telling me that $150k+ ADM was going to be the market on this one.
Interesting side note....I was told that the VIP customers are no longer guaranteed MSRP on these specialty cars & it would be at "Dealer Discretion" for pricing on all cars going forward.
Anyone else hear that?

Thanks Pete,
Considering that the engine is 97% the same for the two cars, it certainly appear that the .2 GT3 is the best performance bargain that Porsche offers and the Speedster is the worst!
I'm very happy with my .2 GT3, a long-term keeper!!

I love my .2 GT3 also, but the engines are not 99% the same. More power (at higher rpm), more torque (at higher rpm), lighter flywheel, >22 pounds lighter in USA, sophisticated electric internal muffler flaps, and ITB’s are more than 1% difference...

I've watched a few YouTube's of the Speedser in Sardinia and it doesn't sound as good as a Touring. The PF to blame? Of course in person would be the only way to tell.
Per Autocar "New particulate filters have diluted the manic engine note – bluntly, it’s now a little less ‘motorsport’"

Only 2 more hp , but it does have 7 more torque. Agree the lighter flywheel and ITBs are nice.
Speedster is not lighter, but actually is much heavier than a manual .2 GT3 with the same LWBs and PCCBs. I'm not sure what weight reference you're using.
I stand by my belief that both .1 and .2 GT3s were the best value of the last eight years of Porsche vehicles!!! Not just the power to weight ratio, but all the extra GT goodies as well.

It’s 10hp more if you use the same measurement standard (for some reason they changed this year from PS to Metric HP). Engine is 22 pounds lighter in Speedster with filters (and I assume even lighter still in US without filters), since they only have one muffler now in all markets.

I don’t think we know engine weight yet. Muffler savings are 22 lbs with filters. Then subtract from dressed weight for the flywheel and add (presumably) for the ITB intake.
