Porsche claims to have saved 10kg with euro speedster motor (seems to imply net of all changes), unless I read it wrong...

From the press release (horses mouth):

“The newly developed lightweight stainless steel sports exhaust system weighs 10 kilograms less – including the two particulate filters.”

Is what I’ve seen. Have a different factory source?

Ah, I didn't realize they switched to metric HP this year. Weird.
I did think it was unusual when they announced the Speedster to have the same torque as the RS but HP closer to the GT3 rather than the RS.

Engine might be a bit lighter than the GT3/RS engine, but the Speedster as a whole is 75 pounds heavier than a .2 manual GT3.

You are absolutely right!
but there is one big difference between GT3 and Speedster, one big advantage of Speedster, which make it best Porsche for Sardinia, LA, Sochi etc - Convertible roof

The advertised numbers are up to double digits from what I have seen. Does that mean from 0 (zero) to 99 (ninety-nine) are only available? No triple digit numbers. Does PORSCHE allow duplicate numbers, meaning two owners can have the same number 9 (nine) as an example?

Drive safe,

My message about production number (0001-1948).
When I made my order my dealer asked me about production number I want. Now this option is closed

about your question - no limits for same numbers (2 symbols in white rings)

Yeah I was surprised by the change too. I guess to be more accurate they changed from PS (metric) to Brake Horsepower. Speedster makes 510 PS and 502 Brake Horsepower. .2 GT3 makes 500 PS.

Thanks for the response. That would have been nice if buyer can choose the "Production number" (e.g., 70 of 1948, etc.).

Lightweight battery goes a long way to making up a chunk of the weight
