+1...no hassle..stick to making your living....sounds like no admin fee on your 991.2...tax credit likely if like most jurisdictions..relationship with dealer...I hate selling cars...I would be okay with it.

I am paying MSRP $157,050 for the '18. The '14 was also at MSRP $144,800.

the track miles surely account for a lower trade in - there is inevitable wear & tear vs a garage queen. many stories about close to MSRP trade in values, I did not get this with a tracked car.

I too prefer to sell to the dealer and be done with it. But the price needs to be reasonable, the dealer doesn't need to make a huge profit for the transaction to be worthwhile on both sides. When I traded in my 997 cab to get a Cayenne, the trade-in price was about $5K below what the dealer sold it for, and the price on the Cayenne was good. (BTW, I want that cab back, now that I have garage space for it!)

Bingo, I have the exact same attitude. For my taste, there is too much risk and pain to sell private party for most transactions.

Wait for the .2 RS- these will be going for $100,000 over so they will be in the high $200,000

When 991.1 GTR3RSs suddenly starting speculatively trading at new Ferrari 488 prices ( up to $400k a couple yrs back) , many long time " relaxed " track rat friends of mine immed stored them away and also bought GT4s to use at the track instead ... they never did that with their prior model 996 GT3s or 997 GT3/GT3RSs !
Wouldn't surprise me if the sharper sales guys will try to pad their commisions and sell future allotments of GT3RS/ GT2RS as a pkg including specing/ ordering a new 718 GT4 ( or unicorn GT4RS ) at the same time !

If it cost me anything in trade, it was worth it.

OK maybe I'm missing something but how would a dealer verify if a GT3 has been tracked or not? If you put on new MPSC2s tires and brake pads prior to trade in, how would the dealer dispute anything you tell him/her? It's not like ECU tunes where if they really want to check if a car has been tuned, the dealer can plug the car into their diagnostic machines and scan various parameters etc. I'm not advocating that sellers be dishonest (ok maybe, but do dealers disclose everything about a used car that they sell?) Seriously how would a dealer tell if a 991.1 GT3 has been tracked or not?

^Tire clag is a good indicator. Normally very difficult to get it all off from the under body, in the wheel well's and all over the calipers..
