Miami Blue, The reality

On another unrelated thread, I actually think this is the most accurate representation I’ve seen.

I’m kinda baffled by the hatred and venom being directed towards MB. I’ve seen it on numerous 911s in various conditions-each time it looks fantastic. So what gives? Just like any color, it should be seen in person to be sure it’s for you. I chose Carmine, but MB was a close second.
The MB discussion seems to mirror the LO discussion...
This makes no sense. Apples and oranges.

Just yet one more advise... Go check this colour in ALL light conditions.
I was a huge fun of this colour and did not see any green hue in it. Only because I saw it first in LED lights in a show room.
Freakintastic colour. If it only was consistent in all light conditions that would be a winner.
Then I saw it on a cloudy day on regular 911 and was totally underwhelmed. I actually felt so lucky to see it cause that made my decision to not spec my car it this colour.
Colour is subjective and MB might have their lovers even when its dull and turquoise under shady conditions but make again yourself a favour and check it out in ALL light conditions.

Just evil...
Just remember, no one ordered the bright
colors everyone wants on PTS now when
they were new. How many Mexico (or Viper
or signal yellow) Long hoods were there —
not a lot. Same with Maritime 964 or
Riveria 993.
I think the only historic Porsche PTS color
that is popular now that was actually popular
when it was offered is Irish.

"Just remember, no one ordered the bright

What are the 'factual data' for these baseless
observations?
In MY1970, in one of the few color analysis
of production cars at Porsche ever published*,
the take-rate for a very bright 'Tangerine/
BloodOrange' was 14.5%! 'Signal Orange'
was nearly 12%! 'Conda Green' & 'Irish Green'
& 'Albert Blue' were 7% each! 'Bahia Red' &
'Burgundy' were at 6%. Even 'Pastel Blue''s
take rate was 4%. These were all 'Standard'
color offerings for MY1970!
And 21% of total production (nearly 16K that
model year) were in 21 'Special Colors' that
included 'Leaf Green', 'Signal Yellow', 'Olive',
'Crystal Blue', etc. And even with the possibility
of 9 'Standard' colors' & 21 'Special Colors'
offered by PAG in MY1970, around 1.3% of
all production was still requested & done in
'Paint to Sample' hues not listed!
And when Roger Penske decided to order the
RSRs for the International Race of Champions
just a few years later, the colors of those 911s
are foreever burnished in the minds of those
that lived through & remember those historic
'bright' colors...all factory offerings at the time!
And they were all popular colors with customers
at Porsche!
So you are way off-base, Evil-guy!

I don't really think even the left side photo truly represents MB. All this does it show that there is more green compared to a purer blue, but MB looks way better than this in person. To call it "blah" is a little much as this color pops as much as racing yellow in person. Post #25 above is a better example.

People do crazy things for color. After hearing all the differing comments on guards red, on rennlist, I flew 6 states away to see the first guards red GT3 delivered to the US , to confirm my color choice before my 2014 GT3 order locked a couple weeks later.
