Default Opinions Please on a 2015 CPO WP0AC2A92FS183709

Test drove this one (WP0AC2A92FS183709) today:

https://www.porschewestlake.com/cert...84ce73fee3.htm

It feels like it has a bad motor mount or something slightly off with tranny. Slight clunk sound and feel from rear when lifting off gas or rolling onto gas. Salesman said that was normal?

Also, sales manager claims that finger follower problems were only on 2014’s, and Rennlist is wrong about any 2015’s being affected. This car has an “F” VIN.

They said they have no way of knowing if it still has original engine nor any way of pulling up the car’s service history except for services performed at their location. That did not sound right to me.

Carfax shows “damage reported to front” on 1/20/17.

https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...&partner=GAZ_0

I’m getting the feeling I should stay away from this one?

Thoughts / Comments??

All the signs from your post say to stay away. And it's not like the asking price is more appealing compared to all the others currently on the market. This had an original msrp of $140k, most are selling below msrp now.

Run like the wind away from this.......nothing that you have said installs confidence in the representations being made to you and the data that you have found. There will be others.....are you going to believe the S/A verses the efforts put forth by the RL community , from Macca to COG and the info obtained in Atlanta?....

I know. The logical side of my brain agrees.

Test drive was awesome except for strange very slight clunk from rear end when lifting off the gas or rolling onto the gas. Can that possibly be a normal thing to feel on these cars??? Maybe just a loose motor mount? Anyone ever had this issue?

I don’t want my emotions to take over and jump into a bad car, but I also feel like I should give the dealership the benefit of a doubt.

Maybe it was just the front lip or something similarly minor that was reported on Carfax. How else could it be CPO’ed? What exactly are the rules for a CPO with reported “damage”? Im thinking we may need a PPI with a paint thickness gage to satisfy this concern?

When this car was at 6700 miles, it was for sale at some car dealer in Beverly Hills.

I saw that too. Not too much info. Ran the VIN everywhere I could, even on RL, and nothing much comes up. Best source of history was Carfax.

Cant the local Porsche dealer pull up the entire service and warranty claim history on any Porsche car, especially one they are selling as a CPO? They told me they have no way to do that. Really does not sound right to me.

There are so many good cars out there. No reason to go after a sketchy one. And the dealer is full of shiite. The finger follower issue is not limited to 2014s.

+1. That is not a good deal for that car. Be patient. There will be plenty of nice 991.1 GT3s available as the .2s start coming in. If I can get an allocation for a .2, I'll be selling my 2015 with a better spec, more extras, fewer miles, and known history/service for less than that car.

TT

Thanks all for the advice. I took a pass, which feels like the right thing to do.

For anyone who finds this thread in the future, for the record, the SM said today that the front damage was a scratch on the bumper and a scratch on the fender, with both of those parts being repainted.

Not going to mess around with 991.1. Will start seeing if I can find a 991.2. Local here has 3 slots for May but wants a big ADM. I understand. It's SoCal, but personally, I must say "no thank you" to that policy.

If anyone has a lead at MSRP, please shoot me a PM.

Riiiiiiight. And that's why it made it onto the Carfax report, for two scratches... That dealer is full of caca. You made a good decision to walk away.

Are you aware of the engine warranty extension to 10 years / 120k miles for the finger followers? If not, please review the sticky related to this topic.
