Maintenance time is always a good opportunity for upgrades. With 60,000 miles on the original clutch, this 987 Cayman is due for replacement. Instead of the factory one, it's getting the lightweight Aasco flywheel & Sachs performance clutch combo which reduces rotating mass by approximately 14 pounds.

The SACHS Performance clutch kit delivers more transmittable torque and more stability, longer life and superior thermal resistance. It also allows for faster and sportier gearshifts that makes it extremely useful for spirted street tuning and at the track. The start performance is similar to your old original clutch kit (no "on-off" clutch), so this solution is also perfect for a daily driven car.
Aasco Single Mass Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel

Switching to a lightweight aluminum flywheel from Aasco Motorsports will quicken your throttle response and enhance the feel of your Porsche! These flywheels feature CAD-designed/CNC-machined construction out of 6061-T6 aluminum and a replaceable heat-treated steel friction surface. You can use it with a stock OEM clutch disk for normal street driving or upgrade to a more aggressive kit for the track. Aasco flywheels have been tested to withstand normal everyday use and does not require your ECU to be reprogrammed.

I have always been intrigued by a lightweight flywheel as a means of improving acceleration and reducing weight.
From what I have read it does change the amount of noises and vibration emitted into the cabin, can you comment on that aspect and how much of a difference one would expect?
