You can modify the original harness, but I prefer to leave the old wheel original so I can easily reinstall it if necessary.

I'm bumping this thread as I am half way through this same conversion, triangle wheel with no multi function, AMC paddles and manual covers for the front. While I'm in there I have to replace the steering position sensor as I get a PSM light during start up that sometimes goes away as I drive off, sometimes comes back and stays on. Restarting the car clears it. Read the code so I know it's the steering sensor. Great thread by the way.

Now I've gone a different way as I found a wheel and airbag from a 987 R 2012. I had to buy a later EU as the horn will not operate with the 2008 EU. Now my problem is coding the EU. The horn works, airbag light reset with the Foxwell 530.
1. The 'FUNC' switch does not operate
2. The paddles do not operate
3. Cannot reset the PSM fault (steering alignment)

Trying to get someone with a PIWIS to code the EU is proving difficult (North Seattle area)

I had an epiphany. Talked to the guy I bought the wheel from, he had the EU from the same car so it would come coded. Should have thought of this before I shelled out for a new one. Live and learn. So when it arrives I will try it out. My office is starting to look like a Porsche spares shop. Going from 987.1 to 987.2 steering wheel got a little spendy.

I have a 2011 987.2 Cayman 2.9 with PDK. This car has the ordinary PDK steering wheel. Was the Sport Design wheel with paddles a factory option on my spec car? Or only on Cayman S or Cayman R cars?

Assuming I know nothing whatsoever, what options do I have to get a Sport Design steering wheel with paddles so the PDK is controlled like the autotragic paddles in my Fusion? (pull the left paddle = shift down. pull the right paddle = shift up.)

Driving two cars with the opposite reaction to pulling on the right control is making my brain hurt.

I'm not afraid to spend some money get this done, but I don't want to wind up buying something incompatible with my car.

Need someone with a 3D printer to make a spacer packer to fill the gap for the paddles to sit on

I took the easy way out. Bought a Sport wheel from Sun Coast and had Porsche of Minneapolis do the install and programming.
