2013 S Misfire
I've had my car for two years. It has been driven 18,000 miles. Last fall I had episodes of the PSM inactivating, usually followed by the start/stop function. Restarting the car fixed the problem. I took it to a dealer. They found nothing. Since then the problem continued. Sometimes there was an engine check light that appeared. All fixed by restarting. I just had the 20,000 mile service. The dealer said they found 35 episodes of misfiring. Aside from one time when the car was running very badly, I never noticed. The dealer replaced all the coils, under warranty. I got the car back yesterday. Today the problem recurred. First, PSM and start/stop, where I did notice some rough engine running. Cured by a restart. Later the check engine light appeared. I emailed the dealer to say that I'll just keep driving until we have something more to work with.
Thanks for your time, comments and any insight to the situation.

i would not have let the dealer off the hook with "....until we have......" if i bought the car new and from the same dealer i would go back and say here is the car where is my loaner and call me when it is fixed.i think this burp is gonna get fixed by a top wrench and his trusty scan tool.you may get advise here ranging from fuel cleaner/italian tune up/battery/drive more/drive less/aos/ims/ and some clown saying they had the EXACT same problem and it was tires. oh and my guess is that it is electrical .take note for mechanic if anything else is not working when the cel happens...the more clues [symptoms ] given to a wrench helps and/or if possible take car right back without shutting off to dealer with cel on. good luck
I am grateful for your interest in my little problem. My view is that the dealer is doing the guesswork. I have my Boxster. It is running like it has been since Fall 2014. There is a problem. It is complicated. I'm not going to figure it out. And obviously, the dealer needs more time. My hope is that something fails for good. Then we have a shot. If I thought fixing the car could happen with a different approach, I would take it. All opinions are welcome.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Last fall the car developed a stumble at lower rpm's but had now faults or lights come on. Surging or bucking was the main problem and seemd like it only occurred on light throttle.
It happened a few times this spring, usually coming up my longish driveway at slow speeds in 1st gear; hit a small grade and the surging started.
Friday, it hit critical mass with a reduced power display on the dash; went away on restart just to reappear. The car had to be flatbedded to the dealer; thought it was a fuel pump but the dealer called back and said the fuel pumps were fine but it could be an electronic gremlin the in pedal assy or wiring harness or DME or throttle body or.......
They think it will take a lot of diagnostic work to figure this out (:
