Thickest Wheel Spacers for 987 Boxster S?
I'm interested in installing wheel spacers and would like to push the wheels out as far as possible without rubbing...what's the widest (thickest spacers front an rear) that's been done out there? This is purely for aesthetic reasons but Id rather not get into fender rolling and such. Car is a stock 2008 Boxster S with 18" rims and Michelin PS2 tires.

I cant tell you how thick you can go before the tires start to rub, but I used 7MM front and 15MM rear on my '06 Cayman and I really like the look.
IMO, if the tires were kicked out much further, it would start to look "ricer" and un-natural.

I did the measurements as per the ECS Tuning video and visited the local Porsche dealer to check some cars that they had in stock or parked there for service. Looks like I'll be going 10mm front and 20mm rear. I hear you Spoayman, as I saw one 911 there with stretched tires on super wide wheels that projected far beyond the wheel wells and it didn't appeal to me. I want to keep the wheel just a slight bit in from the wheel well, so almost flush. I think the 10/20 combo should do that!

It would be interesting if you had some before and after photos to post here to see the change.

So I finally did it. 10mm front and 20mm rear from ECS Tuning. Beautifully made and they arrived in 2 days after ordering. I'm very happy with the results and wouldn't good thicker, especially in the rear...looks great IMO!

Very nice Zadar. I like the weight reduction with those machined slots although the bolts will add most of the weight. I weighed the spacers and bolts, subtracted the weight of the ol bolts and found I was adding just under 1.5 lbs per wheel. Barely perceptible when driving.

My thoughts exactly...but I wasn't going to modify this car!!! Now why would you go and put that bug in my ear? I also 'need' a better exhaust, plenum...STOP!
Any recommendations on lowering springs?

Are the stock lugs long enough to be safe with 10-20mm spacers added? I see ECS sells with or without (I assume longer?) Lug bolts..
I'm thinking 10mm front, 18mm rear would be about perfect.
