I was surprised too, but I think it is almost a year old (even if it has never been titled and has barely been driven). I didn't pay any extra for it, so I'm not complaining!

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll spend some more time with the manual and follow that. The dealer said they did an oil change before I picked up the car because it is a 2014, but I'll plan to do another one at the recommended interval. I'm going to try and keep it under 4200 rpms for the first 1000 miles, but the 2.7 revs so nicely and sounds so good…the temptation to really wind it out is pretty overwhelming...
They probably did change it based on time in stock, it may have had a birthday there

Thanks...I took the Cayman on a road trip to Philadelphia last weekend and tried my best to keep the revs varied (either by shifting or accelerating a bit). I found the close gears made it tough to get. Lot of variation without changing speeds, but on the plus side, I'm a lot closer to the end of the breakin period now!
